The abc are refraining from using his name.

A former housemate of the man accused of raping former Liberal staffer Brittany Higgins has told police he made unwanted sexual advances towards her during the time they lived together.

She said she was impressed by his success in the same field she worked in — public relations.

Hmm public relations would mean he’s good at smoothing over people messing up, especially oneself

possibly totally unrelated, not sure what that article above is about, but speaking in a more general sense regard forces of attraction, things that push an pull (including dislike and aversion) of and between humans, and other creatures too, it may be a bit of stretch to dress them all up as aggression where there is whatever differences in the express forces, and frankly I could possibly get more reality from a real auntie on the subject

of course there are some not-female examples of the species that can be beastly creatures, no question about that, I don’t know of any but i’m sure there are

subject intoxication of any sort, i’m guessing the reality is both males and females have both been known to be involved in chemically disabling opposite and their own sex, enjoying the enhanced social and intimate competencies that somehow are magically derived from intoxication, liberation that way

It would also help to explain Sooty’s solidarity with Porter.

Porter demands that Sooty and the government back him to the hilt, or else he’ll throw Sooty under the bus by letting ‘that man’s’ identity out of the bag.

You don’t get to be a ‘senior person’ in the PM’s department/office unless you’re ‘just the right kind of chap’.

He’s bound to have some personal link to Sooty, quite possibly of the kind which would show that Sooty had to know what sort of creep he’s been.

Not necessarily the PM, but good connections within the party, to MPs and even ministers.

It seems politics is the one great bastion where who you know is more important than what you know. I think the whole “industry” lends itself to this sort of nepotism in recruitment practices.

so part of defending every claim to the last man in exercises like this, is knowing that once the painted façade rusts off a little, the rest peels and flakes off at an accelerating rate ¿ damn who knew

imagine if people with shit to hide tried like anything to prevent the slightest hint of suspicion from germinating lest it bring the spotlight upon them

From the article:

By the time Ms Anderson finished her shift at 7:00am, Ms Higgins had still not emerged from the office. Security then sent a second female guard to do another welfare check.

Four Corners has confirmed this guard called out to Ms Higgins through the closed door.

Ms Higgins left Parliament House at 10:00am and took an Uber to her Canberra home.

I suspect the fact that she was naked was pointed out. The article doesn’t say that she responded to the call out but if she didn’t I would have thought they’d do a visual check on her, from that I’m surmising that she answered the call.

Another three hours after the shift change and no further checking. You can’t tell me security didn’t know what was going on. (I don’t necessarily mean rape, but they certainly knew those two weren’t there to work) There was a suggestion in earlier reports that getting an ambulance was contemplated. Perhaps that was untrue. But at the least, putting her into a taxi and sending her home would have been helpful.
She wasn’t unknown to them.

there is a view among many people out there that the activities between two adults presumed to be consenting are sacred, they are not to be disturbed, it is best to quietly look away and let them get it on on with it, and if you don’t look you don’t see and if you don’t ask you don’t tell and if you don’t listen you don’t hear and if you don’t protect your women you don’t have to worry about them daring to speak out without expecting to be harshly punished

Mark Dreyfus

Another shocking Morrison cover up. #Estimates exposes Mr Morrison’s inquiry into the alleged sexual assault in Parliament House as a sham, the head of his Department blames the AFP, and the AFP denies any responsibility.
Here’s the evidence.

1. Mr Morrison last week told Parliament he was awaiting a report from, Phil Gaetjens, the head of his Department, on who knew what and when in his office about the alleged rape. https://t.co/bL4XtQGeIM

2. But Mr Gaetjens, has just revealed he told the PM on 9 March he’d put his investigation on hold at the request of the AFP. https://t.co/IxW74I6KlL

3. However, AFP Commissioner Kershaw denies ever asking Mr Gaetjens to put his inquiry on hold. https://t.co/JggAK99Y2E

Interesting article, ta.

Very interesting.

“Not to tell life its business, but it’s got no right being here. “It’s not the most exciting-looking rock—if you don’t know where it is”, says Griffiths, lead author of a new study published in the journal Frontiers in Marine Science. Since you now do know, then it means your jaw may be somewhere near the floor right about now.”

Nikola Anderson, who has worked as a Parliament House security guard for 12 years, told Four Corners how she found Ms Higgins in the office of then-defence industry minister Linda Reynolds after the alleged rape.

In February this year, Prime Minister Scott Morrison said the man’s employment was terminated over a “security breach”, but neither Mr Morrison nor anyone else in the government has specified the nature of that breach.

Ms Anderson questions the claim.

“What was the security breach? Because the night that we were on shift, there was no security breach,” she said.

“Their pass enables them to be where they want to be within Parliament House. If they hadn’t worked for that minister, that would be a different story because we wouldn’t have allowed them entry because it’s not their office, they have no business being in there.

“But because these two people worked for Minister Reynolds, they were allowed access in there, which is why we granted it.”

Ms Anderson suggested Mr Morrison had been given “false information”.

Four Corners asked Mr Morrison’s office to explain the nature of the security breach, but the office declined on the basis that the matter was being investigated by police.
