In hindsight I never fucked my country to suck money from it.
Now tell us your story.

You are the mathematician and you are telling me the storydon’t shit me man.
Get closer to specifics.

Um, are you sure of that.
Or is this just how you manage to rationalise your life in order to live with yourself?

One can only do such much to be morally responsible and still actual live.
Seems like every other thing you buy is questionable in regards to exploitation of something.
If it doesn’t directly affect us most people don’t care
Morals/decency take a back seat when money or power is involved.

No i leave all that to other people.

Agree.
My story is that I was paid a lot of money by the government to make life for everyone better in Australia.
But looking back, hardly anything I did actually ended up making life better for anyone. So in retrospect I was cheating the government.
Let’s have a look at what I worked on, short list:
Shampoo and conditioner quality control
Structural analysis using plastic hinges
Railway soil analysis (for their roads)
Effect of earthquakes on tunnels
Engineering of ducts and electrical systems for gas turbine installation
Documenting oxygen pump maintenance
Computing wind velocities and pressures round buildings
Mathematics of pressure fluctuations in tuirbulent flow
Computerisation of wind loading standards for buildings and structures
Rain penetration of buildings
Hail impact on solar panels
Computer controllable window shading
Improving rakes for mining industry flocculation tanks
Computing salt aerosol transport across the Australian continent, and the UAE
A mathematical alternative to the genetic algorithm – my only patent, used in sheduling aircraft maintenance
Corrosion of aircraft – internal and external microclimate
High speed optical communications multplexing
Design of algal ponds
Algal biodiesel production costing
Calculating flood loads on buildings
Formation of chondrules in the early solar system
Design an extremely high temperature nuclear reactor
Correcting the distance to a nearby brown dwarf
So, you can see, I didn’t come up with anything useful.

Well very little of that relates to my existence on earth at all.

You could just be being unfair on yourself
I wonder about the honesty of jobs myself (not you actually being dishonest/rorting the system) but what use is you job outside of the complexity of society and does it actually matter a damn if you dropped dead.
I’m good at my job but its unfulfilling and part of the government system that I generally don’t like.

You’ve planted large number of trees haven’t you, that something worthwhile replacing at least a tiny fraction of what the human race has cut down.

Oh yes. I have planted more trees than you can count on all your fingers and toes.
On any given day, since I was old enough to hold a hose.

Even after what I have read of your lifestyle over the years, I am a little surprised to learn that you never enter buildings, never travel by road or rail, never travel by any means to a location that ever has earthquakes, and never have a bath or shower, to list but a few.

Well I did say very little. I’ve experienced one earthquake in my entire life and only seven people out of 35,000 agreed with me that there had been a small earth tremor.
Haven’t been on a train since 1968.
My English teacher once reported me to the police.
