Where would we be without them?
To all the Forum Mummies. Happy Mummies Day to all the forum mummies, past, present and emerging. :) HUGZ
I have noticed they have taken the ‘emerging’ out of the Acknowledgement to country.. but I don’t know why.
I kind of liked it, to think that there is a future of traditional owners of the land… but there must have been some discussion..

Pretty much the same except it had “…past, present and emerging..”
I was speaking to the ladies at Kulbardi (the ATSI support centre at MU) about this and they said that the ATC is a ‘suggestion only’ and you can add what you like in there as long as it maintains the respect. SO I’m probably going to keep saying emerging.. because I like it.

Oh, is that today.
I went out for a ride. Almost perfect cycling weather today, light winds with a bit of cloud cover. Normally on weather like this there would be lots of people out on the cyclepaths but today was strangely quiet. I guess MD lunch would explain it.

Where there any old people to run down on the paths?
… and HMD to all appropriate.

Not really. A few parents out with their kids. A few serious lycra types on expensive pieces of carbonfibre art, a few superfit young people out jogging.

Bah and humbug to MD.
We were going to have pancakes for a Mothers’ Day brunch, but Mrs S on a long mid-day nap, so we had them for a quite late lunch.
I’ve eaten at least a dozen large pancakes topped with golden syrup, so right now i have got a serious sugar buzz going on.
Mini Me and Lord Mutant made me pancakes with ice cream for breakfast, mini Me wrote and illustrated a book for me, plus made a plate at school and got me a card which had some chocolate taped to it. The gift from stall at school was a small heart shaped cushion with sequins.
Sister and I took mum to a nursery because she decided she wanted a rose Bush, which is weird because mum thinks rose bushes are bad feng shui.
Sister: I think I’ll have the vegie stack for lunch.
Mum: why are you telling me?
Sister: I was thinking out loud.
Mum: if it’s not about me, I don’t care, and it’s not about me so I don’t care.
Sister: …
Apart from that, I napped.
I finally got a private facebook message of HMD from Sarah. She said she had had a lovely lunch with partner’s Mum.

Maybe 50 or 55.
You could do it in 45.
I went to mums place with the kids to meet up with sister, nice, nice in law and their assorted children. We had food and cake (they had cake I had chocolate) then we all cam ehome
the kids made me pancake cupcakes this morning and bought it to me in bed with a cup of coffee and some new ugg boots. (not all not he same plate).
the pancake cupcakes were a thing miss J saw on Jenna Fischer’s twitter (or insta – I don’t know) so she decided to make them.. they were ‘ok’. (Jenna Fischer, for those playing at home, played Pam Beesly in the US version of The Office)
the Ugg boots are like walking on clouds. I will have a drink or two this afternoon with my neighbour whose Husband is FIFO (currently FO’d) and has two very young children.

one year out of seven.
And this is where I need the psychiatrist. i worked so hard at making my mother’s day nice even when I knew she hated me. There’s always a lurking trigger.

And you could be my someone
You could be my scene
You know that I will save you
From all of the unclean
I wonder what you’re doing
I wonder where you are
There’s oceans in between us
But that’s not very far
anyway. we’ve survived Mother’s day and it’s months till my birthday.
The daug prepared a picnic but the boss lady didn’t want to go to the park so we had a little picnic in the balcone.
