I went on the list at the GP as soon as it was opened up to the over 60s. (10th May) But I’d had my flu jab the Friday prior, so there was a 2 week wait. Still waiting, as supplies of vaccine have not eventuated at the GP I go to. Mr buffy was a 1b, so he had his first one 12th May. He’d been waiting for supplies for a few weeks. He’s to have his second one in August.
Still not sure what to do this end. The hospital haven’t rescheduled my operation yet.
Supposed to not have a Covid shot within two weeks of the operation.
Day before yesterday for Jab1, with the next to follow in 8 weeks.
Which seems to be the standard procedure in NSW at the moment.
At least for those in my slightly post-youthful age group.
I could have gone and got mine done at an hour’s notice today.
But I put it off for 10 days.
Am I being “COVID complacent”?
we promise we’ll be all good and vaccinated by 2022 and possibly even before then

No.

Unless some other minister is outed for not giving a shit?
1st one on the 11th of May, the 2nd booked-in for 11th of August. The AZ vaccine, which according to the doctor is proving to be working better than in the trials, so Spocky & I decided to go for it.
I felt like crap for a couple of days, no effect on Spocky though.
Both, feeling a bit seedy today, two days since I got the second dose
Our local paper reports that 2 weeks ago Hamilton had 500 doses available at the “vaccination hub”. Last week they had 50. I don’t think the GPs have had any supplies, but I don’t know for sure.
Then again. There hasn’t been a person test positive in Hamilton for a year or so, and the testing station is only open for a couple of hours a day and not on Sundays.
Just had a call from the older sister, bad news about the mainland sister :(
She had the Covid shot recently and is now in hospital with two blood clots, one in a lung and one in her heart.
Might be looking at losing her soon.

Had my first AZ in late April, no side effects other than a sore arm like a “cork” for about 6 hrs. Waiting on my second whenever it is due.
Best wishes to Mr Cars sister. I hope I don’t read about her in the news.
I’m booked in for 7th July and 30th July for my two Pfizer jabs.

Should someone keep a data sheet? Like I’ll possibly be looking for a booster shot some many weeks after my second AV jab at the end of this month.
Older sister had hers today. There was a doctor in attendance as well as the nurse.
The doctor assured her that the possible clot side effect of the medication she’s on would have no bearing on clot formation due to the vaccine.
Also that there’s no evidence of family tendencies to vaccine clot formation.

Why do you think you will need a booster shot?

Variants. Gotta keep on top of the science.

Interesting. Good luck trying to get a booster before the entire population is already fully covered.

?
I mean there’s no evidence that if one family member gets clots due to Covid vaccine, another one will.

I thought the same as Buffy, i.e.:
There is no evidence of blood clotting history within the car family
rather than:
There is no evidence that one case in a family indicates higher risk for other family members.

Ah, I read it as there were no family tendencies in your family.

There are so few cases, even worldwide, that it’s impossible to say if there might be any family tendencies anyway. All they can really say is that so far there hasn’t been two cases in one family, I guess.

Then that confirms what the doctor said.

bump for Aunty Arts. :)
Age = 59.3 years (3B in hex)
Vaccine = AZ
Jab # = 1
SE = flu like aches the day after + headache. Lasted the day, was able to drown it in Abbotsfords all purpose restorative and was fine the day after.
Age indeterminate.
Vaccine Astrid Zeneca.
Think I went a bit woozie. You know, vague. Got the terrible “nod offs” for the rest of the arvo. Then went home.

Did you perchance visit a pub after getting the shot?

Not that I recall. If I remember rightly, I did get a piece of fish, a cuppla dimmies and chips for lunch, but.

Google Forms is much better than the limited version of Survey Monkey.
