Anyone visiting my on-line software download folder, when using Chrome, gets the message:
“The site ahead contains harmful programs”
and they have done this without any notification to me about it, or indication of what these harmful programs might be.
It’s just a bloody nuisance for me, but for others something like that might cost them big money.
Got an email this week from Google saying “change password on 5 accounts because of security breach”.
Held off for two full days and then the email vanished.
Then followed link in that email to message “no security breach”.
Someone is making a serious attempt to hack Google into sending out false security warnings.
Not Google’s fault.
Try again in two days.
hmmm
I got a similar warning regarding my iPhone
which is a first following a succession of 5 iPhones over the years
The warning was saying 39 suspicious something or others had been detected
and that “THEY” were going to Shut-Down my iPhone in 5 – 4 – 3 – 2 minutes if I didn’t
DOWNLOAD THEIR SECURITY PROGRAM TO AVOID LOSING ALL MY STORED DATA!!!
LOL AS IF! :-p
Instead I opened the Apple App Store and downloaded a FREE TRIAL Edition of NORTON 360
after which it Auto-Scanned my iPhone and reported that it was ABSOLUTELY Safe & Secure.
Things might be different on the Android Platform… but I’m just relating my recent experience.
Years ago there was a scam making the rounds to scare folks into Paying Into THEIR Protection Racket… I assume in my case this was a simple a low level amateurish scam attempt.
