Filming the Speed of Light at 10 Trillion FPS

A Day at the Beach – c.1899 | AI Enhanced Film

100 Years on the Lincoln Highway

21 old films from 1895 to 1902 colorized and upscaled in 60 fps, with sound

(1900). A Sunday in Paris. Lumiere Brothers.

Wonderful New York in the early 1900s in color!

I think NASA’s latest two rovers must rank as the slowest explorers ever.

Perserverence has travelled 1.1 km in 131 days. At least it has the excuse of testing out a helicopter.

Curiosity has travelled 25.8 km in 3165 days. And is still doing loops in the sand pit. You’ve seen the sand pit! Move on towards the summit of Mt Sharp where you were supposed to be headed.

Whoa!
The next presentation brought to mind a recent discussion about
computer enhanced faces that can make you doubt your senses:

Historical Figures Animated Using AI Technology
Abraham Lincoln

Don’t be mean, they’re doing their best.

The rovers, yes. Possibly the drivers of Perserverence.

But the driver of Curiosity back on Earth has a tendency to be, what’s the word, a word that includes both ‘obsessive-compulsive’ doing the same thing over and over again, and ‘shit -scared’ running away from everything with even the slightest hint of danger.
