How come he’s allowed a microphone when playing with a traditional orchestra?

Because otherwise he’d just be shouting.

brings to mine seeing Tull during the early 80’s @ a vast important venue
wherein Ian Anderson appeared with Laryngitis
…it was OK…We All Knew All the Words …
He pranced about as usual playing his flute & we did the singing for him.

It was a hellova Sing-Along w/a grand time had by all (including Ian Anderson)

bet Rev woulda’ demanded a refund. /-8<

I’m fairly sure I was at the last ever concert Tull played in Australia. They were booked to do a tour of all the major cities but decided to start in Canberra. Anderson broke a leg in Brazil I think and they decided to let the tour carry on, so they made it to the ACT. Anderson came out in a wheelchair and performed but after that they decided it was too hard and fucked off, cancelling all the other concerts.

A couple of my mates were really big Tull fans and I was bust working at the time but they went to the big smoke to see Tull. By chance my son bumped into them at Central and decided to go with them to see the concert. Anderson had a problem with his voice and couldn’t sing but my son loved them so much he went back the next night by himself to see them again.

Well I’m glad the Oz docs treated him well.

I wonder if 3 x economy seats gives a better trip than 1x business. (Similar cost I guess). Plenty to eat and drink too :)
