Listing lumps on the front from top down, we have:

Nose, chin, manboobs, belly, lump, penis, scrotum, knees, feet.

What is the anatomical term for “lump”?

I suspect it depends on the cause of the lump.. hernia, tumour, nodule, cyst

I can’t load the page now. But what I was looking at was indeed a front view – ventral.

In human anatomy, we use Anterior and Posterior to describe the same surfaces that, in animals, get Ventral in Dorsal.

Sticking with this usage, the human in anatomical position has three exterior dorsal surfaces (male: top of head, top of foot, upper aspect of penis) or two (female: head, foot), but a surface underneath is usually given Plantar.

Must have changed. We used both anterior/ventral and posterior/dorsal. Especially dorsal, for some reason.

I did anatomy two years ago and used posterior and anterior.. dorsal was used for the vet students…

Sure. Lots of people use them as though they’re interchangeable… And perhaps when the human is on hands and knees, they are. One might even argue that Anterior/Posterior are positions or directions, where Ventral/Dorsal are surfaces.

It’s funny (to me) that the same sources who insist the words are synonymous still use Plantarflexion/dorsiflexion for the foot, which is pretty obviously a different plane. There’s even people who will supinate the hand and claim it thus has a dorsal surface underneath! I’ll have no truck with any of it.

Thanks all.
The inguinal region, as buffy says, also simply called “groin”, but not to be confused with the muscles in the groin.

The fat or muscle in front of the ‘os pubis’ (pubic bone) or ‘symphysis pubis’ (pubic cartillage).

You’re right, it is the ‘mons pubis’.
“The mons pubis is a pad of fatty tissue that covers the pubic bone.”

So is ‘mons pubis’ opposite ‘arsia mons’?
