What have the Froggies ever done for us?
I was given the liaison task for a French warship visiting Sydney.
Wound up in a pub at The Rocks with a bunch of them after the end of the work day.
Somehow, a national anthem contest came up.
Lots of Australians present chorused in singing AAF, with moderate if patchy success.
The Frenchmen all stood up, and bellowed La Marsellaise like their lives depended on it, and they all knew all the words.
Big ovation from the crowd.
