From what I have been able to work out so many fly by night solar operators are out there im kinda too scared to get it done.

We’ve had the panels up around 15 years now. We got the local electrician to do it. Quite a lot of people in this town have them, and most from quite some time ago now. We did have a roof leak around one of the fixings, and the electrician had to pay for repainting the ceiling and wall in our bedroom. I suppose because it was local, and in a small town like ours they have to face their clients often, things mostly just get sorted out.
I don’t have solar. We don’t spend enough on energy here to make it worthwhile, and I may as well use up that awful coal before it gets banned. Apart from that, I did some work for CSIRO on the consequences of hail impact on solar panels, and you can expect to lose your solar panels in a hailstorm fairly regularly. Yes, I know, we haven’t had any damaging hailstorms lately, but they will be back.
I think you’ll find that fly-by-night operators have already flown. What’s left should be sound and reliable firms. Get some advice from a neighbour before installing.
