Not only is it getting all over the state, It’s “stay at home orders” and 7 day lockdown round my parts now. 2 months this has been going on, and it’s getting worse.

It’s not just Gladys’ fault. It’s these fuckheads that think they can just go wandering off anywhere when they feel like it. Why? Cause they can if they want to. Which makes it Gladys’ fault again.

Can I get an Amen for that?

Access to everyone’s credit/debit card and bank transactions. Say wah?

So they can match the QR Code check-ins with credit/debit card transactions to see if they missed QR Code checkin anywhere.

Can I have a “big eye roll” for that one?

Don’t get me wrong.

I support the short sharp and heavy lockdowns, while vaccination coverage is non existent or minimal. They seem to work well, from an outsider’s point of view, but this NSW “lockdown when you don’t have a lockdown” is the fuck up of all time. Donald Trump would be proud of it.

Gladys is now politically fucked, and it’s of her own doing.

Goes harder (ie no more then 5kms from home, one per house out at a time, everything shut except essentials etc) and she’s politically fucked for not doing it earlier. There is no one and nothing else to blame.

Keeps up the hash bash mash of current stuff? She’s fucked too. It’s been 2 months so far, and it’s only getting worse and will be so for months more now.

Because commercial lobbyists said nahh, not another lock-down, business won’t stand it, we’ve got to move these refrigerators, we’ve got to move these colour TVs.

And the Fed and State Liberal wise-guys convinced her that it was nothing serious, no need to look all dictatorial like those yucky Labor types in Vic and Qld. Go easy, they said, you’ll be everyone’s heroine in this State.

Every “expert” (epipesimologists or whatever and the like) I hear interviewed are very careful to not be critical of Gladys (ie get political), however when asked something like “should it have been harsher and sooner”, they don’t say “yes”. They say things like, “quick, sharp and strong lockdowns like in other states seem to have worked well”.

Make of that what you will.

I’m peeved because Mr Speedy is still going up to Gosford once a week for work. His customer expects him to be there, because he knows he is allowed to be there. When we run our own business, it would be much easier to tell one of our best customers that we are legally not allowed to be there.

This is happening everywhere. A person like Mr Speedy drives up to a workplace (the work cannot be done at home) on the Central Coast. There he talks to a fellow worker who travels down from Newcastle, and BAM! It’s in Newcastle. This process repeats right up and down the coast and to all the corners of the state.

It is not people who are doing the wrong thing that are causing problems, but people who are obeying the shitty rules.

A leader would have done what was needed to save lives and not played politics.
A leader would have the respect of their people.

Dictator Dan says “We have to lock down” and the people lock down.
Gladys the Terrible says “Sparkling stay at home” and people say “Make us”.

Your complaints come way too late.

The Oxford/Astrazenica vaccine development was complete, written up and published by 25 Mar 2020.

If it had been approved funckin’ then for emergency purposes – airport personnel, medical staff, for family and contacts of cases – then we wouldn’t be in the fuckin’ state we are in fuckin’ now.

So pull your fuckin’ head in, and give yourself as fuckin’ kick for not complaining when you should’ve.

Then reflect on how many millions of people have died because you didn’t complain.

IDK.. I mean it’s pretty obvious that delta will not be eradicated.. I think the best we can do from here is have compulsory mask wearing across the entire country and push vaccination as quickly as possible.

Seems the number of news cases and deaths has not yet reached the threshold where the premier would consider tightening restrictions.

It’s a good indicator of the numbers that will be considered acceptable when vaccinations targets draw near, and restrictions are eased.

It was obvious right from the start that NSW would not be out of lockdown before Christmas. Having said that, I suspect there will be a premature relaxation of restrictions to keep the peasants happy, and a quick lockdown very soon afterwards.

I get why Bunnings might have to remain open. I mean if your shitter breaks and you cant afford the plumber you might need to get stuff so as not to have shit running through your house.

Why breast screening clinics are not essential puzzles me. Surely if there is something tragically wrong you need it seen to asap even if you don’t know it at that time.

She could always retire and hand the reins to somebody more competent, if there is anyone matching that description in her government.

Ha!

we reckon if people know what they’re doing in crises like these, and do a good job properly, and that means competent and capable, then it takes less out of them and they aren’t going to suffer stress so much

but hey that’s just us reckoning yeah

The problem with that, of course, is that at the beginning this virus was an unknown quantity, so no-one knew what they were doing. They were trying to work with information about SARS and MERS and it’s a different beast. Hindsight is a a wonderful thing, but it took a while to get data.

Yeah.

Kerry Chant was looking tired yesterday at the press conference.

She was looking decidedly rattled and uncomfortable this morning when again, asked about tightening/ring of steel, and stuff, as Gladys was asked, seemed to me to give the corporate response. “It won’t work”. without much expansion on that, other than “Delta variant is different, so a different approach is needed”.

Just got a call from my friend who works at Bunnings. She told me that there are plenty of Covid cases within their stores, but because their sites are considered casual contact sites (rather than close contact), only those people who attended the store and are considered close contacts are notified. These people (usually staff), are allowed back to work as soon as they return a negative Covid result. Everyone else who attended the store while there was a case there is not notified at all. If you have ever been to a Bunnings, you know that there is no knowing who goes where within it, nor who they speak to, so there are people who may have had close contact but would never know it. She also explained that people are meeting in large groups. They arrive with their coffees, and meet in aisle 6, for example. They remain in the store for a very long time and leave without buying anything.

It reminds me of some other politician who refuses to criticise the fossil fuel industry, because he’ll get a high paying “job” there after he is voted out.

It’s like GlaDos is in the pocket of Big Virus, and has been offered a job at the company that makes ventilators.

Not to diss your friend, Ms Speedy, but I find that one a little incredulous. Is that at her Bunnings in particular? Firstly, how does she know who contact tracers do, or do not contact?. Secondly, so lots of people are conspiring to go get a coffee, than drive all the way to Bunnings, get out of the car, go INSIDE with their coffee, and all find a spot together to stand and chat while sipping what would be cold coffee by then? With this conspiritory behaviour done often and repeatedly by different groups of people?

According to Gladys, it is working. Working well. We’d have thousands if not tens of thousands of cases otherwise.

Oh I don’t know, maybe those ones that actually drink the coffee are buying them at the Bunnings cafe?

As for the stores, she said no, there had not yet been a case of a staff member with Covid at her store, yet.

Admittedly, Bunnings cafes in NSW are open for takeaway only here so maybe the odd person or two gets a coffee and shops with coffee on had. But your friend said “arrive with their coffee”.

Nextly, Any Bunnings store that a COVID +ve person has visited, would need to abide by the COVID protocols of being a “COVID exposure site”, and listed according. Is your friend’s Bunnings listed as a COVID +ve exposure site?

The thing about Bunninigs is that you can’t get down any aisle without having to pass within the required distancing.

Gladys needs to tell us who these 390 cases are. Methinks almost all of them have become infected despite following her rules perfectly.

On the other hand, it’s not hard to err on the side of caution.

When i was learning to drive, i asked about how i should know when to use indicators and when not to.

The instructor (a good one) said ‘when in doubt, indicate. No-one ever got booked for using indicators when they didn’t have to, but you’ll cop it if you don’t use them when you should have’.

Should i wear a mask or not? Just wear it.
