The World’s on Fire, Yet Australia Keeps Pumping Out the Gas
Australia ranks among the worst in the world for its climate policies. Its government still wants to expand the fossil fuel industry.

OK, but that sort of stuff just gives the likes of Canavan some half-truths to add to his total lies.
The focus should not be on the exporters of fossil fuels, it should be on the users.
The big problems with the federal government’s position on climate change are their total lack of a plan, and their refusal to recognise the future costs and make them visible now.

I’ve seen the plot for the Gorey movie.
It all revolves around the ridiculous notion that the “collapse” of the Antarctic Ice sheet will cause ten million Bangladeshi refugees to flood into America.
In other words, it’s based on the same phobia of immigrants that took Trump to the top of the leader board.

The ten million would never make it.
Bangladesh is, on average, about 15 millimetres above sea level.
Someone’s only got to knock over a laundry bucket and there’s a flood with hundreds dead.

I’m sensing some degree of exaggeration.

I’ve been to Bangladesh (once is enough, it’s frightfully depressing), and yes, i’m exaggerating but it gives you the general picture of things.

But then Mr moll’s statement probably had a certain degree of inverted exaggeration.

only in as much as Gorey was talking about forced migration caused by displacement worldwide that all too often causes a degree of tribalistic unrest no matter where the emigrants wind up.
face it, even uncle fred and his dog fleeing his flooded basement could disrupt your bar mitzva.
