So can we have a thread that has no Politics, Covids, Afghanistan, bad news et al. I’m not saying these things don’t need talking about and are not important but … Yeah they do my head in day after day after day. To the point where staying in bed sometimes feels like the best option again.

The cygnets are out. There are four of them.

And this lady at the Yatmerone swamp is running later with her nesting. She rearranged things so we could get a nice photo of a tidy nest. She is only about 20m from the road, but it’s a small local road, little frequented. She settled down and went to sleep, so she wasn’t worried about us. The other ones are in a paddock on the Hamilton Highway.

We went to get supplies for chickens and other animals and the second we got out the car, the owners doggy came over get into the car and sat on the back seat.
He doesn’t really know us but is very friendly

As for rotating portrait photos, I save them to desktop, rotate them to the wrong way around, save again, rotate back to the right way and save again. It’s weird, but it works.

Tungsten- molybdenum vein deposits occur in the southwestern part of the region at Wymah, Pulletop. Tin everywhere around there. To my local knowledge The Wolframite was at Tallimba. Just all in that area.

The erroneous comment. in yellow letters in the intro: “Prime Habitat”. Well I’ve studied the place for more than fifty years and it has been a long time since anyone could call it Prime.
The whole area has been degraded by the simple nature of the effect of clearing and subsequent constant ploughing and spraying.

The good news is that an effort is being made to begin on the journey to save some of it.

I have reservations in regard to animals like the kangaroos and emus, they are the bigger ones but anything native that cannot get through the feral predator proof fencing. I recall a fence built around a planted reserve on the southern lake at Lake Wyangan. The long necked turtles all carked it trying to get in through the fence. They wore a track around it and left their skeletons in numbers.
