Capture the colour of nature in an Australian winter and you could win a $100 ABC Shop gift voucher!
It may seem like life stops in the dull grey of winter, but look closely and you’ll see the colours of nature even in the coldest months of the year. It could be the Aurora Australis arcing across the night sky, a slash of green grass poking though ice, or the bright yellow of winter wattle covered in dew.
Send us your pics and tell us how your photo illustrates how it captures the colour of nature in an Australian winter in 25 words or less and you could win an ABC gift voucher of up to $100.
Here’s what you need to do:
1. Take a photo! Your pic must:
illustrate the theme: the colour of nature in an Australian winter,
be an original work created by you
be no larger than 5MB at 72dpi
2. Explain in 25 words or less how your photograph illustrates the competition theme: the colour of nature in an Australian winter
3. Read the terms and conditions (see box below)
4. Email your photograph and your name, address and telephone number and a description of how your photograph illustrates the theme to: abc.science.photos.1007@gmail.com

Winning entries will appear in a photo gallery on ABC Science Online along with other finalists on 29 July, 2010.
The competition opens 9am AEST Thursday 1 July and closes 5pm AEST Friday, 23 July, 2010.
