New way to detect exo’s

Mysterious radio signals may be coming from undiscovered planets

Astronomers have discovered strange radio signals that could be coming from unseen planets. Models suggest that some of the signals could be produced through interactions between the magnetic fields of planets and their host stars, which could represent a brand new way to detect exoplanets.

Goodo. But I wonder if such powerful magnetic interactions mean life is unlikely on such worlds.

Yes. Life is unlikely on just about every world we’ve dicovered so far, either because it is so close to the sat that it’s boiling hot (which would be true of these ones), or because the star is strongly variable (which is true of most cool stars).

Life is more likely in Pluto’s subsurface ocean.

I have hopes for planet discovery by the James Webb when it goes up. Perhaps then we can find planets that could support life as we know it.
