Subject: Printing colour strangely

I put photos of flowers from my garden or the bush onto printed letters to Mum each week. I have a problem with getting the photos of purple flowers to print purple. They look purple on the screen, but they print out looking blue. I can fiddle with the colour temperature a bit, but I still can’t get it to work quite right. But it seems to be a bit variable. This iris photo just printed out quite blue:

But this one printed out pretty much the right colours.

It’s no the greatest problem in my world, but it would be nice to know how to make them print more purple. Any ideas?

True.

One of these day’s I’ll take a look at the actual visual spectra of azo dyes to see what can be done about it, and what else is missing.

Great idea. You should do that.
