Surprise: the Big Bang isn’t the beginning of the universe anymore

We used to think the Big Bang meant the universe began from a singularity. Nearly 100 years later, we’re not so sure.

Who is “we”?

Haven’t read the article, but the headline isn’t encouraging.

Is that the hot big bang ?
Something about the universe conditions existed before the big bang which created matter, which is why they exist everywhere at the same time and are the same

It’s a fair enough article, just introducing the inflation theory that changed the Big Bang scenario some decades ago, for the benefit of stragglers.

Mind you, I’m not a trained scientist by any stretch…however

intuitively; I’ve always felt that if Black Holes “suck in” matter
and as some say, eventually “squirt them out the other end”
does it not make sense that Our Universe (as we know it)
didn’t so much BANG as it SQUIRTED & Re-Expanded ?

I imagine it as an infinite loop like inhaling & exhaling,
eventually gravity will draw us back in again and squirt us out
…until the end of time… whatever, whenever & wherever that is
