Not much comparing goes on though to the public does it.

Leave a gap at the top and bottom for natural convention to push the hot air upwards.

I did work for CSIRO on roof temperaures and roof ventillation.

Let me kinow if you want me to dig out a paper on the topic.

But the main focus of my work was avoiding under-roof condensation during the night, because that causes corrosion and other problems.

I also did a bit of work on hail damage to solar panels, enough to convince me not to install solar panels.
