So here’s a bit about us.
We are a group of lesbians, gay men and bisexuals who, by and large, have spent our entire lives campaigning for equality for people with same-sex sexual orientation. Among our ranks are doctors, academics, psychiatrists and lawyers with expertise in safeguarding.
We’ve celebrated wildly at the great strides made by our movement over the decades and we’re delighted that Australia today is mostly a great place for LGB people, to live, work and love.
We’ve come together now because we believe our hard won victories are under threat.
We believe that biological sex is observed in the womb and/or at birth and is not assigned. In our view, current gender ideologies are pseudo scientific and present a threat to people whose sexual orientation is towards the same sex, in the case of bisexuals, to both sexes. In addition, we believe that these ideologies are confusing and dangerous to children.

An old school mate legitimately decided he was a lesbian trapped in a man’s body and made it most of the way through the process (Was legally female and was well into the hormone treatment) before external reasons made him not go through with it.

Two points here: “the process” is purely cosmetic (the patient remains the sex of their birth, albeit mutilated).
And amongst “male-to-female” trans, it’s increasingly common for there to be no cosmetic “transition” anyway, beyond donning a wig etc.

He was the son of the pastor of the church on my street I grew up, so I am pretty sure it was a rebellion against his father that kinda snowballed.
He got his sex legally changed on his official documents and spent long enough on the hormones to lose a lot of his masculinity, but was still more male than female.

A few forums ago
a genuinely nice bloke signed on
he’d legally changed his name to that of some
unpronounceable East Indian God (that I still can’t pronounce)
Even more remarkable was the enthusiasm with which he tackled each new whim
for example when he purchased a grand piano then decided that playing pianos was not for him
…and so forth and so on etc…
So when he started harmone treatment and shortly after announced that he was about to have “IT” removed
it was a little more than somewhat disconcerting if you know what I mean
ummm the forum banged up shortly after but I can’t help wondering if he was satisfied with his final decision
