Took off the bird netting this morning…..I’ll use that tomorrow when I plant out the other seedings.
Slugs made such a rush for their bait traps they all ran past……… sigh
Getting 2 duck eggs a day now. One for the white ducks and 1 from either Summer or Spring (Muscovy) Neighbour was thrilled to get 5 fresh free duck eggs the other night.

the millipedes are in the mix as well – they cause as much damage as the slugs. i use blue bait for that reason.

I’ve never had much luck with bait traps either – mostly get slaters and ear wigs and the odd portugese millipede. With snails I have much better luck going out when it’s wet and collecting them manually in a bucket of booze. Slugs I don’t see much of – I think the copper tape around pots and vegie beds helps a lot.
Haven’t had to worry about snails this winter – not enough rain I think.

Oh yes, you’re right, I remember now…MrD can call in to “a pub” and buy one or two stubbies, wrapped in newspaper…did mention the pub but as this practice is borderline legal (no drive-through) I took the name out…
You can go to an IGA with the liquor shop and get a single stubby.

The big ones do have a liquor shop next to the stupidmarket in some shopping centres. At Elizabeth…..if I’m not watching where I am going…I’ll walk into the booze area and not through the stupidmarket entrance…… they are almost identical.

I have heaps in my 3 farms. Not so many in the new one…… not as passionate about worms as me. So I put a few handfuls across to help eat up all the food that was in there.
I’m happy to trade for worms….done that…. 3 pallets and a carton of diet coke once. And that lady gave me $30 when I offered her some at the Toyshop that time…lol
Can’t see it being a raging business and keep us in the best of everything…but I sure save those folks lots of $$$$.
