didn’t call into shop for pasty and drink as usual on way to see offspring, nor use public conveniences at midway stop

didn’t see offspring and immediate family, they departed for holiday break few hours before arrived to house sit, and dog sit

I didn’t go anywhere today.

I downloaded QLD’s CSV file of COVID cases and locations.

Seems there are (as of 4 Jan) six cases in Rainbow Beach and six in Cooloola Cove (where we go to Woollies and will get our booster shots next week).

I haven’t been anywhere for ages. Unless I’ve got a driver I’m a staycationer.

Cancelled meeting with Mrs m’s cousin day before yesterday/

I don’t dare go for a walk. During first wave I used to go for walks, but caught two colds that way so am nervous about doing it now.

I need a plumber to install newly-bought taps – postponed indefinitely.

I’ve taken down guttering and need new fascia timber to put it back – postponed until stores have timber again.

mrs m is ignoring the prison.

Today she did a sales job all morning.
Tomorrow she’s working at a funeral for a couple of hours.

Agree. Hasn’t stopped me hugging.

Hugging with mask on is much less dangerous than talking with mask off.

been telling lady her smallish surgical mask, perhaps it’s more an imitation, that I can see all the way in the side of it, finger width, from the side all the way to her mouth, good as useless I tell her, anyway she may have got a bigger one out of the car and checked it fits properly

I can see in that example that appearing to wear a mask, the idea, doesn’t reliably result in a mask doing what a mask is meant to do, of proper function, being to filter the air of covid

and back to the prison diaries (probably thinking prison letters when wrote that heading, gramsci, antonio)

didn’t call in see my brother way home last time, probably would have, do maybe once a year

in other news family coming home day early from beach up north here, so i’ll head down south a day early to pick lady up, avoid them, they’ve likely had contact with people from all over

JUST found out there’s a lady here…
(who shares the building with our kitchen staff)
who’s an anti-vaxxer and now has untreated Covid
was spotted going into the communal mail/laundry room.

If she indeed has her head up her arse she’d be safer to be around.

Mrs m has been breaking covid prison every which way. She’s treating this period of time as if it was 2019.

Shopping for extras at the mall. Pumping up tyres at the service station. Retail sales girl. Playing piano at funerals. Having visitors over. And now taking up teaching a piano lesson at home.

All perfectly legal, but …

I’ve shown her my graph showing that, worlwide, even double vaccination has no effect in reducing the number of Covid cases.

All countries, all days.
