…in gardening fashions…

I notice that there were no worm farm structures for sale at Mitre10 yesterday…guess they have gone out of fashion?

Also, the roll of bird netting was closest to the ceiling…so high up I could hardly see it… might have to pre-order to give them time to get it down to cut it…

Water features have moved on, but those dinky little clay warmers, that look like the cook pots of the Afghanistan world, have pride of place…

Native shrubs and trees, suited to the locality here, have pride of place…hopefully those horrible little “packs of colour” have had their day…

perhaps it is a seasonal thing? People don’t think of worm farms, water features and bird netting in winter, but it IS the time for to plant trees and natives and to keep warm by the fire… Reckon they will switch around come spring/summer?

Well bird netting, maybe, but for the past couple of years there has been a steady supply of worm farms anywhere you go, all year round…the clay warmers I have never seen before, they must be a new outdoors fashion trend? They had the big 6’ stainless steel ones as well, and I’m guessing there is money around that can afford those things in their backyard, which is economic, not a fashion trend…

The water features used to be almost omnipotent, everywhere you went, any time, there were water features…boy could they suck the money out of your purse…

I guess water restrictions have had an influence on these

house blocks are getting smaller so the nurseries sport a lot of courtyard stuff – fountains and big pots – outdoor settings.
