Okay, a new Flickr for me has been set up so that I can show off the pretty things in Townsville in a format that allows for bigger and brighter images. HTML here takes a bit of sharpness out of my shots, so please go here from time to time to check out the shots when I’m not looking for Birds.

Thanks Yeehah, yesterday I met an elderly gentleman who explained the differences between a fe wof the migratory species that land this way from Siberia, and his wealth of knowledge was fantastic. I, like yesterday’s friend, am always happy to share.

Your furry moth is a hawk moth. I don’t know why. I’ve never seen that catepillar in tones of blue before. It must be reflecting off something. The background?

Thanks Pom, the caterpilla shot was taken under some different light settings hence the blueness… I can actually change that in post-production to get a more whiter or yellower shot. The background is just a piece of white paper.

we are getting two moths – blue tongues/sleepies are popping up daily – and the birds are numerous here.
you photos are a terrific record – but i’m sounding like a record now.

like the Beatles, some records are meant to be played over and over again.
I do look at some of the shots I have taken and think, how common will this be in 40 years from now?
