These little compost bags for FOGO only really last about three days once you start putting stuff in there, they appear to begin composting as soon as they get moist, so you kind of have to tie them off and throw them in the FOGO bin even if they are only about half full.

Yeah, with wings that small, to fly they’d have to flap so fast that the wingtips would break the sound barrier. Completely unrealistic.

The two biggest nuclear arsenals in the hands of two powers that are probably not going to be the economic powerhouses of the 21st century and hence can be expected to flex their nuclear power in order to assert dominance. Russia is an autocracy quite unlike anything else on Earth and is in decline in terms of civil and political rights as well as the rights of ethnic minorites, that is trying to get the empire back together. The US is better but is still vulnerable to extremism and autocracy as we’ve seen in recent years. It’s all very troubling and the hopes that the changes of 1991 would lead to an end to nuclear peril have largely evaporated.

The effort of maintaining an empire seems like a lot of work, fight wars direct or by proxy
Foreign policies to interfere in the inner working of other nations so they devolve into civil war and are no longer a threat

Nice.
Think of T rex as a feathered carnivorous hippo, if that helps.
Another argument in favour of their being aquatic is their presence in large numbers in fossil beds. Fossil beds are all water-related.

And Sidney Portier got one.
I wonder how much energy websites use that spread stories over multiple pages using a large NEXT button?
You click next and the next webpage loads, everything else loads again, click next everything else loads again etc with new ads appearing each time, sometimes the same ads reload.
Why not load the story all on one page and the new ads scroll up as the reader scrolls down, this would use less energy.
A lot of the time, the same information is being loaded, over and over.
How many websites do this around the whole world? Millions of multiple webpages, heaps of energy.
Someone needs to calculate the number of websites that do this and then calculate the amount of energy being used.
It would add up to a lot of energy, heaps.
No way are these websites with multiple pages are environmentally friendly.

HAARP is a target of conspiracy theorists, who claim that it is capable of “weaponizing” weather. Commentators and scientists say that advocates of this theory are uninformed, as claims made fall well outside the abilities of the facility, if not the scope of natural science.
