actually i remember reading something years ago about doctors warning about this very disease spreading widely.
maybe but who cares, it’s just a little head cold, people can just live with it

personally i’d step up ALL vaccinations for things like meningitis and make them FREE
the damage caused by diseases spreading far outweigh the bill for vaccines. vaccines created the modern life we live now

fine but would you also review occupational environments and make modifications to for example improve airflow but with filters to exclude vectors like mosquitoes
or perhaps recommend the wearing of garments that prevent penetration of for example mosquitoes

if i see a mosquito in my house i kill it immediately – in my area the mosquitoes are known to carry a well known disease

The garments mentioned have been recommended.
They would kill me here. Seriously. I overheat easily. Earlier today, it was 32°C and 76% RH. It is currently 24.5°C and 83% RH. I have shorts on (only) and a pedestal fan going flat out. I am dripping with sweat.

makes me wonder if we could put up lights that attract mosquitoes, or the special bins that attract them with the smell of human sweat then they get trapped

apparently the wind from the fan tends to deter mosquitoes anyway but then we add
would one recommend the use of fans to improve airflow to prevent an infectious disease
they can smell you and will wait if need until you re most vulnerable – some kinds hide in dark places in the house then appear at lights out, you only need to be vulnerable for a second

vaccine shills can fuck off, almost everyone gets a mild disease and over 99% of victims survive
You do know that in the first wave in Australia, at the start without vaccines, full lockdown, 99.3% of the victims survived?
After the Ruby Princess cruise ship in Sydney, that dropped to 98.8%?
And Singapore without vaccines had a survival rate in excess of 99.9%?

South Australia confirms cases of Japanese encephalitis
Four suspected cases of Japanese encephalitis, or JEV, have been confirmed in South Australia, SA Health said on Wednesday, AAP reports.
There are now 14 human cases of the mosquito-borne virus in Australia, including seven in Victoria, one in Queensland and two in NSW.
All four cases in SA required hospitalisation and three acquired the infection locally.

First death from Japanese encephalitis recorded in NSW
NSW Health has just reported that a man from the Griffith region in his 70s who died in a Sydney hospital on 13 February 13 was confirmed today after a post-mortem examination to have had Japanese encephalitis, or JEV.
There are now three known cases of JEV in NSW residents, including two cases announced previously, a man and child, who are currently being cared for in Victorian hospitals.

your brain doesn’t shrink…
it becomes so inflamed that it swells
beyond your bony skull’s capacity to contain it
until it shuts down areas controlling automatic functions
such as breathing and heart beat, Even if you;re rescued early
parts of your brain may be slow or even unable to fully recover over
the coarse of YEARS… so for that unlucky “few” it’s more than “just a cold”

just wear some mosquito repellent if you need tomakes me wonder if we could put up lights that attract mosquitoes, or the special bins that attract them with the smell of human sweat then they get trapped
aside from the “Traps” using lights or Co2 to mimic breath
it was found that it draws more skeeters to the area than they kill

I gotta agree with you
the lil bastid that made me crazy
would lay in wait in my bathroom and
nab me in a matter of seconds while relieving
myself @ nite. By the time I’d climb back in bed I was
already scratching cursing and reaching for the Benedril Gel

recommend wearing mosquito repellent in affected areas, maybe innoculating animals against it to help stop the spread? reduce the capability for breeding sites by educating people not to create breeding areas in their garden ?
the problem with innoculating animals
is that the main vector is wild birds, mainly waterfowl
but YES, all the normal precautions apply from crepuscular hours
to billowing clothes, fans, repellants, standing water, …crossing your fingers… :-p
