Maybe we should start declaring a war on JE before it gets out of hand
Maybe start putting out mosquito traps in affected areas NOW ?

Or just get vaccinated.

Should we start vaccinating in affected areas – now ?
Ive got a funny feeling that there may not be much stock of JE vaccine. I had to go to PNG a few years ago and they seemed reluctant to give me any. They held off.

The article states that there is sufficient vaccine for priority groups.
From https://www.abc.net.au/news/webstories/what-you-need-to-know-about-japanese-encephalitis?
Currently, the vaccine is advised for people who work with pigs. This includes transport workers or vets who visit pig farms and those who cull or hunt pigs.

we are, because the stat’s aren’t that different to SARS-CoV-2 yet the response is disproportionate

not certain what you mean by “mild”
but trust me… YOU DO NOT WANT THIS!
although few people have a sever reaction, those who do
are a Wreck! the brain swelling within the confines of the skull
has left a friend of mine just up the street, blind, cripple and crazy!
…and that’s following having come out of a year long coma on assisted
breathing and 6 months of rehab…and this guy was far from a frail old person
when he was struck down…
He ran his own diving business after having been an ex-Navy diver…
When I met this trim, good looking fellow, he was struggling along on a medical
frame walker and although he’s plainly highly intelligent, he has trouble forming words
and speaking he also told me that the swelling in his head caused his eyeballs
to change shape, and he’s virtually blind because his lenses have become flattened.
keep an eye on the situation that seems to be spreading as the climate changes
and urge the medical science labs to create an effective vaccine asap
