Subject: TESS Planets
TESS is a satellite that has been up there for 4 years now, since April 2018.
It’s looking for new extrasolar planets. Over the whole cosmos, not just a small window like Kepler.
There is no public data release of candidate planets yet, but some observations have been released in advance of the first data release. https://archive.stsci.edu/prepds/tess-data-alerts/
To be specific, details have been released for 336 candidate planets.
As I expected from knowing about the mission parameters, all of them are in very close orbits.
The longest known orbital period is 56 days, making it closer to the parent star than even Mercury with a period of 88 days.
The shortest known orbital period is 6 hours, not suitable as a habitat.
