You mean
When he gets older losing his hair
Not many years from now
Will you still be sending him a Valentine
Birthday greetings, bottle of wine?

Calculate it. Born May 1958.
That makes me, um, …
Happy Birthday,
Happy birthday Mr Car
Thanks everyone.
Ross people will be here in about half an hour to take us to Hobart for the birthday do.
Unfortunately the older sister is still feeling ill after her fourth Covid shot so won’t be joining us, but there’ll be two other sisters, the brother, at least two brother-in-laws and maybe other troops in attendance.

Have you practiced your speech so that you wont have to refer to pieces of paper or the palm of your hand.
Start off with something original, say “unaccustomed to public speaking etc etc……..”

Formal Speeches will not be required.
The do is at the sister’s shop but in an unused room (it was going to be in her fabric printing studio but she’s set up the spare room as a more suitable lunch room).

Someone should have reminded me that today was my wedding anniversary as well as Bubble’s birthday. I’ve been driving all day and completely forgot about it.

yeah
BACK after a very pleasant birthday outing.
Received some very nice presents including a Tamdhu single malt scotch limited release at batch strength (57.8%), fine wine, various English ales, fine cheeses, some nice old scotch glasses etc.
Lunch included various gourmet pies from Jackman & McRoss Bakery, including venison and quince, duck with cranberry and walnut, spicy vegetable, egg & bacon etc.
And a lovely (and very heavy) raspberry cheese cake from Jean-Pascal Patisserie.

So what other celebratory undertakings does one have under consideration for pleasurable accomplishment this eventide?

Well for a start, I’m about to sample the scotch.

Well for a start, I’m about to sample the scotch.
Will one also be participating in some ambulatory pedalation on the new exercisorial apparatus?
It’s beautifully packaged, seems almost a shame to unbox it.

That can wait until until tomorrow.

You could always fill it with cold tea and put it back, hey what but.

Rather than bother doing my own tasting notes (‘cos I’ll be enjoying it too much), here are theirs, with which I expect to concur:
Nose: Elegantly spiced oak, with warming vanilla and freshly-shelled nuts.
Palate: Summer berries and cream. A splash of water brings out warm biscuits, oak spice and candied orange.
Finish: The rich spiciness builds, then reveals sultanas, citrus zest and brown sugar.

Of which none are actual ingredients. So they reckon it tastes of everything else but scotch.

I concur with most of that, although it’s more butterscotch than berries on the palate.
The finish is very long, very spicy and very warming indeed (as one would expect from nearly 60% abv).

A good scotch does taste of all sorts of pleasant things, as well as scotch :)

Four day ‘feast’.
Sort of like Easter, but no-one has to get nailed to anything.
