the grey guard could be a non standard one and thus pretty hard to find. Maybe try you local fire brigade station for advice.

Yeah plenty of them to be found and that’s what Chubb will supply. I’m really after the grey number that somewhat stops angry kids from kicking the shit of of the bottle

I have no idea why when I get take pictures on my phone to post here they always end up sideways.
Anyway the bottle sits behind the guard so kids don’t boot it when getting on for school.

You might need to make it
5mm bar , 100mm wide (?) Might be ok
A local metal workshop should have a bending thingy. Anything north of NSW is on island time so take this into account.

Do you think that maybe it acts as a guard but isn’t a guard? Looks like it is a hand rail for getting on/off?

Any metalworking shop could make that fairly quickly. It’s not a complex part.

$150 – $200. A very rough guess – If I was doing it it’d be a bit cheaper though. The expensive part is the bent tube.

So he does know where the vehicle came from and can check with the supplier then…Perhaps by looking at another vehicle of the same type?

Yup he has 4 busses all kitted out slightly differently.
They were all modified at different times well before I got here. The school has since moved location and I’m dreading having to try and find the details in the archives.

My own fire extinguisher has looked like this for the last 20 years.

I made a metal bracket for my pre-amp yesterday. You could make a bracket.

That looks like it was made to suit a small number of vehicles, so not a production line item. We have several like it in our fire trucks. Your best bet would be to go see a local metal working shop and ask them to quote on making it.
Asking them to quote instead of just asking them to make it, means that that they (hopefully) won’t rip you off.
It looks pretty easy to make. One of my previous jobs was steel fabrication. That’s just a bent tube with brackets welded on the ends, and a can of spray paint. I’d quote you less than $200 for it as a one-off job.
