Maybe an estate feeds its spare unused power into a hydrogen production plant during the day then of a night the hydrogen is fed into fuel cells to assist night time power
When you build a new housing estate it doesn’t feed off the existing power network.
The waste water is treated on site and is used to water the gardens of the entire estate. Special pipe is fed to each house and sprinklers / watering systems – no one uses tap water to water plants.

If we did away with most things we could build one giant smooth road getting rid of all the bumps to cover the whole planet.
This way we could drive our Bugatti Chiron’s at 300kph without scraping the bumper bars.

My take on that is that you need a totally separate shed
There’s just enough space between my big shed and the back shed to create a shed for hydroponic food production/ mushrooms.
The battery/ solar system could in theory power in house food production

I have no mortgage – I can’t be hurt directly by interest rate rises
The rate rises are only meant to hurt those over extended on their loans, I never bought a house I couldn’t afford. Inflation is caused by gov money printing – the private borrower is hit , not the gov money printer.
If they put up power prices – I’ll be fine , I can simply pull the main switch of a night and sell power during the day. Selling power during the day will pay the service fee for being connected.
They can put up council rates but these rates are collective punishment, these rises are small.

Interest rates are really a way of
1 controlling the worth of the money
2 controlling wages growth
Government thus only has three functions
Create unemployment
Control spending
Rinse and repeat
I suppose a fourth function is : stay in power

ALWAYS find a way to get to them so storing them in your house isn’t viable.
When I was young ( 8 ?) my grandfather revealed he had an air rifle. I waited for the grandparents to go out then searched the house for it and found it.

I would make industrial areas lawn free, with businesses using that space for car parking for their staff. Remove the lawns and replace with gravel. Remove the high square kerbs designed to prevent cars from parking on the lawns with low sloping kerbs allowing ease of access. I hate having to do the doge and weave in industrial areas because of the number of cars parked on both sides of the street which effectively reduces traffic to a dsingle direction only.
Or, I’d add in public transport that connects industrial with residential areas.

You think the death of cities isn’t a big issue?
It beats out piddling solar roofs for importance.
And what’s your bedroom to parking space ratio?

There’s always building better public transport, and cycling infrastructure, so people don’t need so msny csrs. Especially with the advent of e-bikes.

Putting solar cells on your roof and a battery system to carry you overnight are things you can do to make your life easier. Speed limits, car parking are often things where you’ve got NO control.
I just tried to take control of what I could and worked with that.
Ive got some problematic neighbours over the back, piles of bikes – once the roof gets done I’ll get the missus painting the walls and start thinking about a nice big engineered concrete wall to separate myself from idiots ( think the israeli wall of occupation).

I’m thinking maybe concrete footing 1.5m down perhaps?
You dig trench put in reinforcing and shutter the whole thing up 2.4m high.
You move along the entire neighbouring fence the whole thing is a foot thick

Get some steel sheet piling. 6m sheets driven in half way. It requires a super loud bit of specialised kit to install. Big-arse hydraulic jackhammer on the end of a massive digger.
that’ll fuck ‘em.

Could be easier to use concrete bessa block I suppose. You lay down some concrete foundation then lay bessa block not lengthways like normal but perpendicular to the length of the wall. No chance of it falling over ( maybe you’d stick some reinforcing from the fittings and use the gaps in the bessa block to pour concrete into ? ie the concrete in the bessa block anchors the first 1.5 m directly to the concrete footings ?

I don’t know.
My problem with bikes is that people get killed when they mix with cars

Yes. This is why I said cycling infrastructure. Not mixing cycles with cars on the same road.

I think car registration fees should be charged on a per use basis. Some sort of compulsory onboard device in every car that collects movement data and sends it back to a central computer. An algorithm calculates the fee based on this data.

Build double story homes so the cars can be stored underneath.
or first level, second level for car parks, third level, fourth level for apartments?
Maybe
I always favour concrete myself
My idea for towerblocks is to do away with elevators and people just DRIVE up, you park outside your front door, there’s ample space for 4 cars if need be.
All the services sit on that wall for easy access – ugly but functional.
Everyone gas a long wide balcony , the towerblock is sloped so if you fall or try killing yourself you only fall into your neighbours back yard.
Maybe houses should be built up for greater efficiency ( you can have more people inside/ have more storage space)

Its a nice idea but with a road system you are paying for it all, if you wanted to go somewhere you can. Your car registration pays for the roads for cyclists to use, or for your food to reach market.
I would ban / nationalise all toll roads – they are a scourge

You use ALL money collected regarding vehicles ONLY for roads
All vehicle rego, all vehicle insurance taxes ( gst) , ALL fuel excise, all tax collected on electricity charging up electric cars, all taxes buying/ selling vehicles – ANY money collected from vehicles only to be used for roads. All fines go to the road.

No
Its very practical, you charge people for having roads
No toll roads necessary, no loans necessary for building major infrastructure

If you think about it we’d have the best roads in the world
Trucks could be hydrogen powered, because they are moving at 150kmh , it takes less time to get there and no fumes/ particulates. If people wanted electric cars you’d have all the money to build wireless charging into the roads
