Subject: Dinosaurs, retro vs recent reconstructions

I’ve seen almost all of these retro reconstructions before.
But I haven’t seen the modern reconstructions before.

The colouring of the modern reconstructions is hilarious.
But I can’t fault the shape and posture of the modern reconstructions. eg. Deinonychus really is startlingly bird-like.

I still think that the most recent pterosaur reconstructions are wrong.

That neck had to be looped in flight to bring that very heavy head back up against the shoulders. The head crest then acts much like the dorsal fin on a shark & dolphin, with the advantage of being steerable.

Anything else and the pterosaur would rapidly nose-dive into the ground.
