Good news for me, I’ve been on statins for a long time and my cholesterol levels are always fine.

Why doesn’t it bode well for you, Cymek?

The high cholesterol levels, I have gut problems as well
I’m also on statins but wonder if the damage could be done, I have an abnormal Lipid protein B that causes non diet related cholesterol problems

Ah. I think my immediately younger sister has non-diet related cholesterol problems too.

As do I.

Type IV hyperlipidemia. Controlled by statins for the last 17 years.

Our brains are mostly made of cholesterol. Loss of cholesterol in the brain could have dire consequences.

It’s annoying that the article linked in the OP says “abnormal” level of cholesterol without giving a hint as to what “abnormal” really means. High cholesterol is hardly abnormal.

Cardiovascular health
According to the Mayo Clinic, arginine supplements may have benefits for people with certain cardiovascular conditions. For example, they may help treat:

coronary artery disease
clogged arteries
angina
Arginine supplements may also have perks for people with peripheral vascular disease (PVD). This condition develops when your arteries narrow and reduce blood flow to your limbs. Most people with PVD develop it in their legs
