Pothole detector for a car could be as simple as an ordinary video camera.

Match one frame to the next (expansion and tilt of frame subtracted off). And the potholes will show up as bg red dots on the screen.

What I’m trying to do is to get road construction crews to remove pothills, otherwise known as speed bumps. That’s a much bigger problem than potholes.
