Random brain fart time.
The artificial meat scene is steadily producing better quality & more affordable meat-free meat. It’s usually beef or chicken, but I was wondering if they recreated human meat, would you eat it?
It’s not from a human so no-one is harmed, but I think I’d still find it difficult to sit down to a jolly good human rump steak. I’d try a small piece for a test, but I think it’d take some convincing of myself to make it regular and I doubt I’d do it.

It’s not meat so stop calling it meat, it might taste ok and be good for you but it aint meat.
It’s all part of the new age woke industry that pretends that something is what it’s not.

Wait, are you talking about vegan soy protein muck or meat made from animal cells?

I’ve eaten some questionable things in the past.
I’m not saying it’d be my first choice, but, if it was the only choice…

But the latest stuff is meat, it’s made up of the same stuff that regular meat is, it just doesn’t come from an animal.

Sure, I’d eat it rather than starve. I mean I’d probably eat it if I was paid to eat it, or if there was any other driving force on it. But if I go in a restaurant and see it on a menu, then as a free choice I’m probably picking something else.

Meat: The flesh of an animal, typically a mammal or bird, as food (the flesh of domestic fowls is sometimes distinguished as poultry)

Probably
Zero animal suffering , you could probably offer it as pet food as well , no need to kill all those animals to feed pets. Artificial meat would be better than the crap you find being sold as pet food.

Not human meat, that’s going too far. I suspected one of my old flat mates of having eaten human flesh

I posted the same question on a Facepalm group.
Much the same reactions as here, but someone came up with an interesting option – What if the artificial human meat was synthesised from yourself?
I’d have a try of eating myself at least once I reckon.

Surely if someone eats bits themself all the time they will eventually run out of bits to eat.

I guess it depends on what we are talking about. What if someone kept eating their flaky skin like Goldmember?

My take on it was that we are dying off at roughly the same rate of regeneration and that maybe by accident or design, some of that dead material goes through our alimentary system.

Fake meat tastes nothing like meat, so why would anyone bother making a product that is inspired by, but tastes nothing like, a distasteful product?

It is designed to be appealing to those of us who wish to conquer their addiction to meat. Kinda like a gateway meal to vegetarianism.

From way back in the seventies when I noted that the majority of what was in the average hamburger pattie was TVP or textured vegetable protein, I’ve thought the same.
I don’t call a lentil loaf a meat loaf but I’ve fooled quite a number of meat lovers with that very thing.
“Thought you were a vegetarian?”
Yes I am.
“but this is meat loaf?”
No, it doesn’t even contain a meat flavour..

A policy long used by the Seventh day adventuras. The originators of the peanut sausage.

If you know it isn’t meat then you may get a pleasant surprise.
There’s always been a lot that can be done with the humble lentil.
Simply ask Neil from the young ones.

I was given some Nut Meat to try. The only similarity it shared with meat was the word meat. It was horrible.

I refuse to eat it. I’d rather play with the dry lentils and make my own creations.
