I’m planning a couple of weeks off after Christmas. First will go to my sister in Canberra then really wanna take Littlefella somewhere we’ve never been together. Got a cousin in country Vic, can’t remember which town.
Anyone else planning to be home that we could drop in and say hello to? … would have to leave 5th-ish to start the journey home.

me! me! you can visit me at my new place! There is a big lake nearby where you can go boating and fishing and swimming. It is part of the “high country” and there is horse riding and such.

I live in Townsville. There’s enough bleedin’ Victorians here that we could think it part-Mexican.

The short answer is yes, Drylander.
Mr Y and I separated back in March. Long story involves “step-family issues” and would curl your hair. Mr Y and I still get along well, but the big picture makes living together an unsolveable problem.
Mr Y was living in a tent on the 25 acre bush block when I met him. It’s 46km from the nearest big town, where I’m living (renting) now. There’s 12km of horrible dirt road from the bush block to the start of the sealed road, with mobs of kangaroos and wallabies all along.
We built the house out there, even though I wasn’t sure whether i’d cope with the road/isolation/long drive to town. I loved having a place of our own but all the negatives outweighed that in the long run.
As soon as Mr Y does the last few things and gets the Certificate of Occupancy from council, it will go on the market. And I will be much less financially challenged, as I won’t be paying half the mortgage as well as rent.
