I have decided to loose weight…… my quilting friend is going to help me as she goes to weight watchers and I can’t afford the fees. So she is my coach. This is my first REAL diet and I am excited and ready to take control and get my weight down.

I’m not telling my blood family……. lets see if they notice anything as it happens.

I’m telling my gardening family. As I know you’ll be such a support group for me.

I was weighed this morning and its 90.1kilo, this is the heaviest I have been. I am allowed 21 points each day and I will be weighed each Friday at her place.

So as I need to tell someone besides the Elf and K …….. I thought you guys are it.

Started its own thread, so if you don’t want to know what I am doing, suffering, starving, walking, dripping fat off me as I walk….. you can skip it….lol

Am on a similar path, Lucky, re weight.

Before I fell pregnant with Littlefella I was going to a support group (not WW) about body/eating issues, found an eating plan that worked really well and got tiny. Loved having a “zing” in my step rather than plodding everywhere.

Fell off the wagon when I was pregnant though and have never really been able to get back on. Until, miraculously, I rediscovered the book with the eating plan in it a couple of weeks ago.

Have lost 5kg in a month.

So I’ll be backing you up too :)

I did get down to 115 but had the band loosened before Christmas. Then came 130kg..

So I got the band tightened and went to 110. Then I got very dehydrated.

Band loosened. Up to 120.

Steadying down now again, and around 116, and dropping.

Wanted to be 100 by christmas but I don’t think that’s going to happen..

Have to send you a fresh photo Lucky, seeing you’ve met me, for inspiration perhaps..

Don’t starve!!! Weight Watchers doesn’t approve of going hungry because you’ll just fall off the wagon.

You can gain extra points by exercise and most veg are points free. Make a veg soup with stock cubes and points free veg and eat as much as you like.

Hi Collie! Sounds like you are going ok though, good to hear.

I’ve hit a snag. Since my band was tightened my weight has gone up now down. I’m very surprised and obviously need to go get it checked. When I have time I will. Hoping I haven’t gotten an internal flat tire :P … dieting and watching what I eat is full on atm.

I love this ‘kick start’ low carb soup and load the pot with whatever veges I happen to have in my garden, inc silverbeet. The diet is on the today tonight site. I wouldn’t follow the whole diet plan, but the soup itself is really nice and great for getting over hungry spots. If I feel I need some meat with it I simply add some shredded cooked chicken and reheat. My girls are always making it. GS will scoff the lot if I leave it available for him, so I do.

Pre banding, I lost 30 kg keeping a pot of this made up.

The Kick-Start Soup Diet recipe. Enough for one person for two days

Ingredients
3 tomatoes
2 large cans of crushed tomatoes
2 cans of liquid stock (beef, chicken or vegetable)
2 cups of water
1 packet of vegetable or French onion dry soup powder
1 bunch spring onions
1 bunch of celery, including leaves
2 cups of green beans
3 green capsicums
1kg carrots

2 stock cubes (chicken, beef or vegie)

Method

1. Chop all the vegies into small pieces and put them in a big pot with the remaining ingredients.

2. Add salt and pepper (not too much salt).

3. Boil rapidly for two minutes and simmer until it is nice and tender.

4. If you want it thinner add a bit more water.

Have as much of the soup as you want, whenever you want.

That’s a side effect I’m hoping for too.

The slender ladies (who feel the cold) at work sit under the air con vents, but I’m up the back inside the western windows and the air con doesn’t quite reach me. Last summer I felt like I was gonna melt every day. Worked in winter. They sat under the warm air wearing singlet/shirt/vest/cardi. I sat up the back in 3/4 sleeves.

I must come from northern European stock, hate the heat. The others in my office dream of living at the coast/in Qld/etc. I like it here :) lovely cool summers, not often over 30oC.

Yes! Things have stabilised, I no longer have to weigh myself all the time so I have no idea what I weigh – but going by pants tightness things are pretty good :D

My body works so much better now – it’s been just over a year that I’ve been going to clinical pilates once a week, and it’s made such a difference.

like thee i have put on weight after quitting smoking. it is a pain. makes bending over and dressing harder.
so this morning i turned the compost heap at a single session – sweaty hard work. the breathing is easier without the smoking (quit june 9th this year) but i’m not game to push too hard.
i’m hoping that long sessions of hard mowing, hoeing and weeding will do the job – or at least stop me eating for a 2 hour stint. then there’s the pool.

if nothing else works there’s a gym down the road that has circuits daily. the trouble is the staff – they are all fit young things.

Couple more kilos off and might have to move it to my middle finger. 20kg ago I always wore it on my middle finger.

:)

Well done! Good feeling..

I’ve never worn rings. But I’m finding clothes that are from my Navy days that fit me again for the first time.

I’m 10kg lighter than when I got out. In 1989.

Wearing T shirts with logos which I thought were clever when I was 25 years younger. That was the taste free phase.

I’m a bit of a clothes hoarder too. Couple of boxes full still in the ceiling out on the bush block. Shoulda loaded up the 4wd and brought them into town while I still had it. Oh well. I reckon I’ll end up donating most to an op shop anyway.

Funny how tastes change in 25 years :P

Yes! :)
Hunger will happen but you will learn to manage it. After a while you body will get used to the smaller amounts and adjust.

When I got hungry I used to imagine fat cells popping like bubble wrap. I’d hit the pavement and go powerwalking and say out loud pop pop pop off ya go ya fat thing LOL.

I wondered if it was me maybe not eating the “fatter” (lets call them that) items and so my body had burnt them up and was looking for more.

MrD used to go to a gym, they had pneumatic weight machines, in that you set an air pressure and worked against that…it was for rehabilitation and people who’d never worked weights in their lives…MrD used a couple of them…I’ve not seen them in another gym, but this gym was for world-class weightlifting (the owner was an Australian champion) and the owner kind of expanded his equipment (and space) to suit the burgeoning market…they’re slack on the supervision tho’, so our youngest daughter went elsewhere…this supervision is something to watch out for if you’ve been injured or whatever…just a tip…

I went with Mrs. B and one of her male friends (just mates, was engaged) and I shocked her as I lasted the whole hour. I was KNACKERED at the end, but I impressed her and I was very proud of myself. I didn’t care what anyone else thought….

MrD used to go to a gym, they had pneumatic weight machines, in that you set an air pressure and worked against that…it was for rehabilitation and people who’d never worked weights in their lives…MrD used a couple of them…I’ve not seen them in another gym, but this gym was for world-class weightlifting (the owner was an Australian champion) and the owner kind of expanded his equipment (and space) to suit the burgeoning market…they’re slack on the supervision tho’, so our youngest daughter went elsewhere…this supervision is something to watch out for if you’ve been injured or whatever…just a tip…

i did plenty of weights in my early days and that i can handle.

these are organised classes of up to 14 people so therein lies the problem. how does a beginner cope without looking stupid?

Everyone has to “begin” somewhere. Says she who does nothing if it relates to exercise.

Day 6

Today/tonight I am upping my program to loosing weight…… I’m in the gym with my laptop…….no not emailing or surfing on it….but I’ll play a Supernatural DVD and use the elf’s treadmill and lift some weights, while the shows play. Can get boring in there.

Tomorrow I’m upping my water intake by sitting a jug on the cupboard and drink hopefully 2 ltrs over the day.

Off into the markets tomorrow…… I ate 1/2 kilo of mushroom (free food) in salads and in my wok since Friday last week. Need to replenish.

Also I think I have scared my baby spinach to death…..need to buy some new seedlings and put them into a new spot in the garden. I have had 3 plants collapse and croak it on me…..buggerdamnit!!!

Lucky, just thinking out loud…. weight loss with exercise and dieting is the right way to go, however remember your body is used to being the weight it currently is, so it will make some adjustments during your weight loss. As you burn fat stores, your body will try to replenish those and you will also build muscle mass. These things may reflect on the scales. You will also get to stages where your body has the right muscle mass for the exercise you are competing and it is often at this stage when the fat drops away quite suddenly.

Just never be too disappointed if the one particular week the weight isn’t dropping yet the week prior of after it does. Don’t be ruled by the scales.

Thanks PM. I don’t have scales….great huh:D

I’ll be weighed on a Friday morning at quilting.

I know it will be like you said……. but I am still 110% willing to do this and be a healthier person for it.

Not sure if its just the idea of what I am doing….but I have noticed changes in energy, out of bed earlier in the morning…more active….but the best thing is

NO junk food for 6 days:D I am so proud of this……….

When i was on the points program I ate a lot of veg pasta sauce.

1 onion, garlic, zucchinni, mushrooms, red cap, tinned toms, basil or oregano, s &p.

Fry onion and garlic add cap and mushrooms fry a bit more and then the rest of the ingredients.Simmer till tender.
Use an oil spray and all you need to count are the pasta and cheese, if you use any. It’s very tasty, I still make it now.

I’d be a bit wary of those corn thins, they are high GI and not good if you are diabetic.

Theres nothing quite as healthy as freshly picked raw veges too..

Yes but they’re boring on their own…I like salads with the 1 -2 teaspoons of oyl and some salt and pepper…

Also Lucky, don’t overdo the water or you will affect your internal equilibrium…the salts will become diluted and you may become woozy…is that haemostasis????

NO junk food for 6 days:D I am so proud of this……….

Been on my eating plan 31 days, lost 6kg, 6cm gone from my waist.

Went to the gym this morning, accidentally forgot to turn the porridge off before I went.

I won’t elaborate on the smell in the house … On the bright side the house didn’t burn down.

Worryingly, the 5-days-till-he’s-a-teenaged boy child slept through the smell and my reaction when I got home.

Yes.. don’t overdo the water. There’s no need to drink 2 litres unless you are active.. sweating on a 35C day in the garden.. running about after kids, chasing chooks..you get the idea.
That thing we hear about ..if you are thirsty then your body is already dehydrated.. is wrong. It’s simply your brain reminding you it is a good time to have a glass of water now. But it doesn’t mean a litre. Sports drinks are full of sugar and will make you fat, and only ok for extreme marathoners. Or people trying to outgun a magpie.

you’re spot on there HP, the sports drinks are excellent if you need what is inside and the average person trying to lose weight is not at that extreme. That last year in Adelaide when I rode me pushie for 25,000km was a year where I needed excuses to eat… like jeez its been 40mins since I last ate something.

Yep that sort of extreme sport would fit the bill!

I have severe and reactive oedema.. fluid retention, thanks to hypothyroidism. I’m limited to 4 cups of water a day and I have to be very careful with fluid intake. Those leg stockings you have to wear in hospitals for a procedure are what I have to wear daily, only they are a lot thicker. I have to get them on before I put feet to the floor in the morning, then only off again when I lay down to sleep. Because I’ve been doing this religiously, hmmm over 22 years now, I don’t have horrible ‘elephantitis’ legs.

Anywhere near a dog shelter? There’s one near my work where they love to get people in to walk the dogs. Only downside is I think you have to do a whole day of training before they’ll let you walk the doggies.

Good on ya Pepe. It’s great going with friends too, makes it fun-er :) I’m too busy just trying to stay alive to get back to the gym lol! For now my gardening activities will do , and eating those lervely fresh raw veges. Except spuds.

raw spuds are not fun-er. best of luck with the op tho’.

This morning I put on a pair of pants that I haven’t worn since I began this journey.

No muffin top……..
Sitting here and not feeling like I will cut my gut in half……
Didn’t need to suck it in to get the button to reach the button hole.

Last night I put extra time in the gym as I was into the next show of Supernatural……each show goes for 40 mins on DVD. Ahhh the beauty of no adds. Didn’t seem to find it as hard exercising.

Mrs. B said she can see my tummy has changed shape.

I can’t believe we are getting all these “new” channels, and there’s still nothing to watch on television…a DVD would help…they don’t eat much on DVD’s, unless it’s some state banquet or something…

Yep, the junk food adverts are particularly ‘orrible at this time of night…

I had a ticker for my weight loss and found it encouraging and fun to see it sliding towards my goal :D

I bought a Wii and WiiFit Plus in June. It has a wonderful chart that tracks weight and BMI. It also allows me to enter my waist measurement. I find it encouraging if I haven’t lost weight but waist is smaller, I interpret that as being the fat being converted to (heavier) muscle so kgs don’t change but cm do.

As for the WiiFit Plus, I find the exercises pretty so-so. I like the balance games best. Just standing around exercising is boring as … well, I don’t do it, is the end result. I gained 5 kg between June and September (then lost 6 kg in 3 weeks but nothing since, grrr!).

But a new gym opened late last month and I paid a month’s membership up front, so of course I’ve worked out that if I go minimum of 3 times a week I more than get my money’s worth – love a bargain!

Plus the owner’s about my age and good for a chat. And I can watch the morning news on the telly. Very exciting in light of my aerial-free house.

Before I fell pregnant with Littlefella, 14 yrs ago I was eating a very healthy diet, going to the gym 3 times a week (it cost 50c a visit to uni gym, before voluntary student unionism), playing on 2 indoor netball teams and one Saturday competition team (my knees will tell you all about how healthy that was!) AND rode my pushbike around town to save on petrol and/or bus fares.

I weighed my lightest since I was a teenager.

Not aiming for that weight again, I figure those years may have slowed my metabolism!

Besides, what I want is not a number, I want to zing! with energy. I want that bounce in my step, to bend in the middle, to not be ashamed to wear swimmers when I take the new teenager to the pool or beach.

The number (kg/bmi) is just an objective measure of what I’m achieving.

Egg-zacly.

I am not calling it a diet but a life style as now I am doing this….I know if I don’t stick to it, my weight will gain not loose.

My brother lost stacks of weight, but as he stopped doing the “right thing” (seems a harsh statement) he has gained 1/2 he lost. I don’t want that for me.

you’re good – either that or your mate kris is.
i had my first circuit tonight. good – everyone there is fighting some sort of physical shortcoming – altho a couple of the ladies might be gym junkies. anyrate that’s the best 60 mins of puffing and sweating i’ve done for years.

Good on ya Pepe and all that gardening thrown in will have you looking FAB TAB again in no time:)

thanks lucky. it does feel better. during warm up i lifted the right foot up, bent at the knee and held it behind my back with one hand. i must have had a problem there because that area is extremely unflexible. so i have identified one sore area and it’s improved immediately.

Besides, what I want is not a number, I want to zing! with energy. I want that bounce in my step, to bend in the middle, to not be ashamed to wear swimmers when I take the new teenager to the pool or beach.

that zing is the thing.

My hips a tad bit sore this morning….but then I did an hours power walk with K yesterday morning and then 40 mins in the gym last night….plus the usually up and down and walking ones does daily…….

Couple of laps around the soccer oval this morning and it freed up some.

Tomorrow is my weigh in…on Tuesday next week I’m off to a quilting shop and I am going to give my self a 1/4 metre of fabric for each kilo I have lost in the last 2 weeks as a reward………not rewarding myself with ANY KIND of food.

Yes.. don’t overdo the water.

I suffer from oedema (cause of my size, inactivity and blood pressure…might have to try the stockings. Drinking less tea, losing weight and exercising more would probably work too…but we can’t rush these things :)

The last few times I loaded up WiiFit, it tells me off for not meeting my target – because I lost weight instead of staying the same :D However I’m pretty sure I’ve put on a few kgs since then, so now it will be telling me off for the opposite reason!

I’m the opposite for you – find the balance games frustrating, but I love the stretches and the yoga poses. I’ve asked Mr Bon to pick up WiiFit Plus for me next time he’s game shopping – I think I will use it more than WiiFit because of the way you can put together a workout of a certain length with the exercises you like. I’m hoping if I put together a 5-10 minute set of yoga stuff, I will be able to squeeze it in in the morning before leaving for work. Not so much as exercise but I want an interlude of quiet, meditative stretching before I start the day.

It will probably go the same way as WiiFit though – short period of frequent use and then it tends to stay in the cupboard.. I’ve been meaning to start using the Wii dancing game again now that I’m not so ill – my goodness, that was a huge aerobic exercise!!

No weight loss this week at all!!!!!!!

K said for me to have snacks and use up my points I’m allowed each day. I could be starving myself (don’t eat between meals much at all) and so what I do eat is turning to fat……………… eat and I shall loose…I was doing this the first week but not so much the second.

Never mind…..always another Friday to jump on some scales.

Yep, one up one down. It means nothing gets missed. The screening kits that come in the mail are not popular with the medical profession because there are things that aren’t cancer that bleed and there are cancers that don’t bleed, so a proper check is preferred.

(I let him keep it tho’ lol)

Photobucket

lol! I once had a dog that brought home a bag of shopping once, sausages and a smoked chicken and some other stuff. Never did find out who he pinched it from!

MrBL’s family had a dog that was infamous in their small country town. They couldn’t keep him in and he stole meat from the butcher, cocked his leg in the supermarket etc etc. Typical case of a frustrated working dog. It was before my time but I really enjoyed the stories about Deefa.

It wasn’t until MrBL was an adult that we found out that he hadn’t really “gone to live on a farm” when his parents could stand no more. :(

I was horrified that they’d do something like that and then lie to the kids.

Thanks. Mind you I was comparing my weight loss to a 2kg packet of sugar…now I have lost the weight of my black & white cat “Lucky”. I stood on the scales this morning and the elf gave me Lucky and bugger me!!!!! We were the weight together of what I was when I started.

This really makes me stop and think…..I’m a clever girl:D

Could murder a chocolate. Fangin’ for a sugar hit. Only 2 blocks to Maccas, could get a sundae. Nevermind that I’m already in my pj’s.

Think I’ll indulge in a warm (soy) milk with a drop of vanilla for flavour (I actually really like this!) – and no sugar – and hope I pull through the craving.

ROTFL!!
You crack me up, Lucky!

I’ve had chocolate once since 12th Sept … 49 days/ 7wks 2days … OMG! … and sugar twice other than that (one was son’s birthday cake, the other was a craving just like now).

You’d think i’d‘ve lost more than 1 miserable kg in the last 3 weeks then, hey!

Mind you, with the energy I’ve used these last 2 days I’m looking forward to standing on the scale tomorrow. Better have started a downward trend or … um … or I’ll stop getting on the scales, lol!

You can have chocolate. But only dark, and plain. I have about 4 small squares out of a block about once a week. In moderation, good for you too. I’m not a chocoholic though and I can ignore the rest easily.
Sugar craving.. I keep some dried apricots or dates handy, but beware the fruit sugar (fructose) is concentrated. One or two..

Snacks.. nut’s are fab, esp chilli nut’s. I love almonds and I can have a small handful a few times a week.

Got on scales (WiiFit).

Another 0.5 kg gone, 2cm off waist (they’re the only things I’m measuring, WiiFit has a spot to record waist so I am!).

That means I’ve lost 8kg and 8cm off my waist since 13/9, 7 wks.

No sugar, no wheat, no flour, trying for low-fat. 3 meals a day, no snacks. Lots of vegies.

I’m trying to cut down on my chocolate (and bananas) a bit. Already eat nuts every day (at work, anyway), so I went and bought some seeds (pumpkin and sunflower) to nibble on at chocolate o’clock. And I also bring in a little container of chopped & washed raw vegies to get me through the afternoon. Delicious. It’s weird how objectively vegies taste better than chocolate, they just don’t give you that hit, do they??

You are better off losing slowly, more chance of it not finding you again..

Remember muscle is heavier than fat, if you’ve been working hard on the house you might be toning up the muscles a bit.

Well if one has been given a coupla dozen duck eggs and the kid needs something for lunchboxes why would I buy “packety crap”? And of course he likes chocolate and I had some leftover mashed pumpkin so I can subversively add vegies to his sweet treat so the muffins are lovely and moist. And of course I like chocolate and fresh baked muffins are just scrumptious …

Short answer: no weight loss today!

Gym in the morning.

Gave myself the morning off this morning, slept an extra hour. Not good getting to Friday and being exhausted, especially now the boss is back and getting back into the thick of it.

Hoping that this weekend will pack away one size of trousers cos the next size down will have loosened up :)

might have to go for a wander and see if there is any food around, can’t believe how hungry i am, must have a bleedin’ tape worm or sumthink. the human body don’t like change so sometimes when weight loss occurs, the body looks to re-stock. i think that is what is happening here, i am currently lighter then i was before i went to png and my body is telling me i should get stuck into some tucker and regain some of that old school comfort. i have cravings for rubbish food, some call it comfort food but no-one here in qld makes a decent pie or burger so it is now referred to as rubbish food. chips are bloody awful, why is it that pubs serve only chips or rubbishy vegetables. often on my trips for work, i find myself screaming by day 3 for some real food. agggghhhhhh. it is always good to return home to fresh vegies and selected cuts of meat, but even then, we end up with stupidmarket meat. i should go to the butcher more often. the other day i went in search of osso bucco and found a reputable butcher, and asked “hey mate, can i have some osso bucco?” and the butcherbloke says “i only got veal is that alright?” i said “it’ll do thanks” agggghhhhhh. the boy at the grocery store (holding up my green cucumber) said “is this a green cucumber?” to which i replied “yes” and then as he placed the red capsicum on the scale, i said “and that is a red capsicum” agggghhhhh. isn’t cereal the most god-awful thing to contemplate waking up to? “hmmmm? i have been asleep all night, time to get up, i think i might have a bowl of cereal????” you have got to be kidding. while walking the kokoda track i would wake after a peaceful night (in an effin’ tent) and thought “big day ahead, lots of walking, best fuel up for the day” and try to eat porridge. little bits of bird seed soaked and soaked and soaked and rolled and baked and soaked until it was a gloop. a lump of stodge. a bowl of what? as my throat constricted around each mouthful trying so desperately hard to swallow and not gag, i ate porridge. the australian soldiers may have been shot at, they may have had malaria, they may have even suffered dysentry, but thank goodness we did not ask them to eat porridge while they were defending Isurava. there would have been mutiny in the ranks “sorry guv, i’ll take my chances getting shot thank you” bloody hell, all this talk of food is making me soooo hungry.

You need cake! LOL :P

No, you need to increase your food volume. And find a decent recipe for porridge with nuts in it like almonds or the macs from your tree. More protein

I definately agree with you about cereal. Over the years I’ve tried them all. Terrible tack! Trying to find one that’s healthy and edible is a lost cause. On the other hand, D eats weet-bix for breakfast every day of his life. I can’t swallow them.

We had the best meat pie ever, at a tiny little shop in the main street at Canungra. All hand made by an old codger and cheap too.

9 weeks since I changed the way I eat …

Lost total of 9.2kg.

:)

Haven’t been to the gym this week, between being over-tired from last weekend’s painting “binge” and a minor (inconvenient but limiting) injury.

Looking to doing a stack more painting on the weekend, so don’t know if I’ll be in any state for the gym next week either.

Cool! Good on you :)

I’ve lost a couple kg too, but I can only tell by my jeans belt. An effort to lose because my thryoid homone level has gone nuts and odema is bad atm. Feeling cold too, so the level might be too low.

I think I may have pulled a muscle in my left calf, balancing on ladders etc while painting on the weekend. Decided to go to the gym tonight and could only manage treadmill, recumbent bike and ab(dominal) exercises … had a go at bench pressing some weights but forgot i’d had a long break from that particular kind of movement and overdid it … back on the treadmill with sweat pouring off me for 15 mins then.

We’ve had intermittent rain downpours off and on all day, but I managed to coordinate walking to and from the gym (7 mins each way) in between :)

My weight has been kinda +0.2 or -0. 3kg up and down every time I’ve weighed myself for the last week or more. Would’ve though some excess would have melted off me with all the physical work I did on the house over the weekend.

Oh well. Swings and roundabouts.

If I zoom out on the graphs that plot my weight and waist size over the last few months there’s a consistent downhill trend, which is good in the long run :)

Howzit going Lucky?

My back has been acting up for the last week and a half and when I’m not exercising, comfort food is hard to resist.

Apparently the independent arbiter (scales) has decided I’ve gained 1.4kg in that time.

Losing weight is such a grind and often a disappointment. I don’t ever want to diet again. I should but have decided, I am what I am and so be it.

I have to do something now or face medical problems in the not-too-distant future. My mum was diagnosed about ten years ago with a hereditary form of lymphoedema and I’m starting to show symptoms. Well, I’ve had odd symptoms off and on over years but the worse mum’s get, the more she talks about it, the more I realise I’m on the same trajectory.

I did a heap of reading about it months ago and there is no cure, it can only be managed. The worst things for it are being overweight and lack of exercise.

Add to that the gall bladder problems (which improve on a low-fat diet), the bad knees and back (overweight doesn’t help either), and my reduced ability to participate in the more gymnastic forms of horizontal folk dancing, and you’ll see my motivations aren’t primarily cosmetic ;)

all very valid reasons to drop a few pounds, I have dropped 4 kilos since I had the teeth ripped out and feel heaps better and by back also appreciated the weight loss :)

Thanks Dinetta ;)

On the bright side I haven’t gained any weight in about a month. Stuffed my back about that long ago, got outta the groove and haven’t been back to the gym. Monthly membership lapsed and no point paying a month ahead as I’ll be away.

My main goal is to stay at a steady weight while on holidays, which will be a hard task in itself.

Yep…same weight at the end of the festivities…good goal!

I’m heading to Fashionista’s cross trainer…love that cross trainer…dusts off HRM system

I’m more interested in losing inches and gaining lean muscle mass at this point…Do you have one of those things, people have them attached to their upper arms with an elastic band, and I’m told they can hear music on them whilst exercising?

iPod / MP3 player? I have a cheapie (not an iPod) but have never used it. Wanted the techno-boy to sort out getting music off CDs onto the computer then on to the MP3 but i keep forgetting to remind him when he comes back from his father’s place.

Might see what my offspring can advise…the TV at the PCYC is stuck on that “greatest hits” channel, and I am so “over” Lady GAGA…she is the pits when it comes to entertainment…mind-numbingly boring…will be glad when she fades away, hopefully in the very near future…

same here – steady is good.

i am stretching with ms pepe in the mornings. she has done yoga for 17 years and is quite good at it. i provide the light relief and the agonised groans as the stretches start to bite into the muscles.

I’m half a kilo off pre-Christmas weight :) As it turns out I hadn’t gained as much weight while on holidays as I thought I had – fortunately!

I set a new goal on the WiiFitPlus this morning – to be out of the “obese” BMI range by Easter. That’s only 4kg away though :)

I like the idea of being “just” overweight.
