The world may have a new supercontinent within 200 million to 300 million years as the Pacific Ocean shrinks and closes.

Researchers at Curtin University in Australia and Peking University in China used a supercomputer to model the evolution of Earth’s tectonic plates and the formation of a future supercontinent. The journal National Science Review published their findings on September 28.

It’s OK. It won’t be a bother to humans.

Been listening to ‘The Avengers’ radio series (South Africa c.1971)

It has ads for Omo cold water detergent, and the ads have ladies who’ve used the product commenting on its effectiveness.

One lady talked about how good it was at washing her husbands swimming trunks which would be ‘stained with tar and oil from our beaches’.

Hopefully things are better now.

Oh you beauty! You got to it before me.

It’s very rare for scientists to predict what the shape of the continents will look like in future. And before now I’ve seen three maps with three different directions for the future movement of Australia, over much shorter periods of time than this.

Here’s the map I just found.
250 million years into the future.

Note how this differs from the above. In the version I found, Africa is squeezed in between the USA and Russia. In dv’s version, Africa is sitting on the edge. In my version, Antarctica is sitting between Brazil and Australia. In dv’s version, Antarctica is on the edge west of Chile.
