That tallies with what we discussed in an earlier thread. What we call “consciousness” is the user interface of the brain, rather like the computer screen of a computer, not like the CPU.
Half a second is longer than I had anticipated.
Would I be right in thinking that this interval of time varies for different individuals and also for different emotional states?

of course, the work involved can be undefined as the objective (or outcome), some representation of the effort can manifest or be projected into conscious awareness, even partially formed, then recede for more work (computational effort), over and over, in fact manifestation of the effort can be both automatically and intentionally inhibited, it’s a good thing it is or can be largely inhibited
and that much of the effort and work of the brian isn’t available for mediation is necessary I might add, functionally necessary, basically the feel-see a person gets is more heuristics
and I didn’t find anything much new in what I read on that page
