yes those big black plastic ones, made to measure, esp if you get one with timber like the older style ones and not the stainless, even under cover I will get a cover if and when I buy a new one !

Yep – rain, dog, mice.. Our old BBQ went rusty from the rain. Will always get a cover from now on.

I saw a segment on Huey’s the other day, that was all on barbies.

I know he’s a prat but it wasn’t him doing it.

The guy reccommended the weber genisis range as being the best, but they’re very pricey.

I’m no BBQ owner myself, but you may want to spend more than that Veg, my research so far suggests that yes, you do get what you pay for, and sub-500 is a cheap BBQ.

it’s a beaut idea for a christmas gift.
i bought the cheapie – but one with a hood and working thermometer for the oven would be better.

I don’t have a BBQ , don’t want one either. I don’t like anything char grilled.
What I would love instead is a cooks grill, a large flat thick steel plate at least a meter wide and half a mt deep, plumbed in. And a good scraper.

I noticed today that Aldi will have a stainless steel 6 burner with roll back hood on sale next week for less than $500.

while I was in there I noticed they had an in-line water filter at half price ($49 or something down from over $100.) The brand was Lumina which I think is their own brand. Am thinking about it for the new place for the bore water. Not sure how easy it would be to get replacement filters though, unless they are a standard size.

BBQ thread Hijack alert!

You may want to get the Bore Water tested first. Some basic inline filters will not purify all of the baddies in bore water. You may need to look at an RO filter to drink bore water.

what is an RO filter? Thanks for the heads up there, although I could attach it to the tanks I suppose.

what Potter said. RO will filter your water down to 2 parts H and 1 part O. Towntown bore water is not that human friendly, so everyone just uses it to keep their gardens and vegies green… plenty of calcium in it in certain areas.

OK. Not sure how this one works but it has two type of filter in it. Also the water is supposedly drinkable as is, but I tend to be a bit fussy with my water. I don’t drink much else so I figure I can afford to be :)

well if it is “supposedly drinkable” then why bother with a filter? But I would have it tested first, and for your water the inline filter sounds suitable. Like Potter says, RO is exxy, but the best there is.

Isn’t RO the method the De Sal plant is going to use to turn seawater into drinkable?

‘cause I am fussy about the taste – I don’t want any! I might in the end just get one of those bench top pottery jobboes and use the tank water in it.

I see Bubba is trying to turn this thread back….. good luck!

I’m not sure Potter, I’d say that they would need to destill off the salt before they try RO…. but I ain’t no expert.

RO can turn sea water into pure water, we used it up north. And yes Bon, that’s what is being done at Kwinana and Binningup. And at Karratha – announced last night.
