An Atheist Bible, https://pdfhost.io/v/0aStVe2g3_Atheist_Bible is a translation of large chunks of the Bible into English with all the overtly religious words replaced by non-religious synonyms. Suitable for use by both Christians and Atheists.

• “In the beginning, laws (of physics) created the cosmos and the earth”
• Psalm 23 “Nature shall not want evil. It makes green pastures jump up.”
• Psalm 14 “The immoral says in his mind, ‘There are no laws’ (against it)”.
• The start of Leviticus turns out to be nothing more than instructions for hosting an outdoor barbecue.
• In Deuteronomy, Moses uses religion to fortify his position as dictator.
• Abraham plays a practical joke on his son Isaac.
• Elijah is killed in a road traffic accident.
• Mary became pregnant outside marriage due to her enthusiasm.
• Jesus is the adopted son of Theos. Adopted at baptism.
• The Magi are itinerant Zoroastrian fortune tellers.
• The earliest version of Mark has no resurrection.
• Lords prayer “Nature in the cosmos is Awesome”.
• In Acts, the apostles are speaking of dialects.

This Bible translation is not authorised by any organisation or cult, it is intended only to be a basis for discussion. The purpose is to strip away the religious baggage imposed by later generations to see what the Bible actually says. I hypothesise that the Judaic religion arose from the merging of three atheist concepts: the concepts of Nature, Law, and Karma, which transitioned to a religious meaning and merged into a single deity.

This translation is as close to word-for-word as possible. It is based on the Interlinear Bible, two standard English translations, and three each Hebrew and Greek translation software.

When I read The Book it was as a novel

to kind of add connective tissue to
the SAME 2 Dozen Time-Worn Tales
many of us know by rote since childhood.

it seemed to boil down to
a book of history & a survival manual

There shouldn’t be an origin story

No one is sure exactly how the universe and even man was created.

God should play a minor part and lumped into “the supernatural “ ( yes it’s real – there are entities “good” and malevolent ( stay away from and don’t provoke a situation if you can help it).

The problem with an atheist bible is that it assumes many things.

Chapter 1 verse 2 : treat all information as hostile unless evaluated.

Realistically do we need an atheist bible ? probably not
