My BS detector is working just fine.
My Morton’s demon detector is improving.

But my hype detector is malfunctioning badly.

Please supply me with examples of hype to help me recalibrate it.

If I binge “hype examples” the first two pages don’t come up with a single hype example.

But I’d say just about any publicity related to AI will be a good example of hype.

Not sure which category for this but I’m sure you will decide:

Did a search on chatGPT and found:

https://www.zdnet.com/article/what-is-chatgpt-and-why-does-it-matter-heres-what-you-need-to-know/

which all things considered is actually pretty hype free (although it does use the M word).

I actually own a DeLonghi evap cooler.
On the Tableland the humidity is often quite low so the cooler works well.

Like that one.
Yes, googling hype examples finds zilch.

Here are a couple I made up myself.

1. Humans have 49 chromosomes.
Ref: Zaleski 1966 Canadian Medical Journal.

2. A doubling of atmospheric CO2 causes plants to grow 475 per cent faster.
Ref: I have 3 refs, including an IPCC report.

Does hype have to be something that is factually correct but reported in a wholely misleading way?
Or can it be total BS?
