it’s time for some exploration of the least psychological minded examples of the species, an examination of bogan philosophy, granted it might be generous to call it philosophy, but they have guiding notions, ideas, perhaps ideas that are worse then none at all, but they have ideas

so drop them here for some conversation about

i’ll start with contempt could be their best friend, there ya go

I can help you out with chimpanzee philosophy and gorilla philosophy. And perhaps a little with pig philosophy, chicken philosophy and crow philosophy.

But I’m sorry, bogan philosophy is beyond me.

I’ll start with the bogan notion of “us and them”. They’ll fight like mad to protect “us” but couldn’t care less about “them”.

Next is what I term “idee fixe” – a preoccupation of mind believed to be firmly resistant to any attempt to modify it.

Rather than “contempt could be their best friend” it tends to “hatred is their best friend”. A startling number of people need someone to hate. If they don’t have someone to hate then they’ll invent someone. Think feuds.

There is also the philosophy of ‘suck up to the strong and trample the weak’.

One more – how about “I have the right to kill anything on my property”?

Nothing like the bloke I worked with. He could tie grafts faster than anyone I’d seen while talking on the phone and drinking a VB.

Something else I’ve noticed about bogan philosophy.
