I see these bug’s running about my place often.
They are semi soft bodied and about 2 cm or one inch long.
This one I got out of the dog’s mouth, that’s why it’s all dirty and half eaten looking, Max loves to chase them.
What are they ?

I think I read somewhere that they can be a problem in large numbers but I’ve never experienced it.

Cat food too… we often find a cricket with it’s legs in the air in the morning and a cat fang piercing through its gut area….lol

Mole Crickets Rock! Put your hand flat on the ground in front of them, and they will pry your fingers apart to try and find the darkness :)

normally they dig little holes in soil and make the typical late summer dry weather mating calls. i think because i used bentonite on my whole backyard, vegie garden and grass, i had hardly any mole crickets making noise in my backyard. they must like dryish conditions.
