But image stacking is necessary in any case to avoid distortion caused by refraction by the Earth’s atmosphere, and image stacking easily removes satellite trails.

Not a new concern, and not a real concern. This is an image of the Andromeda Galaxy as it appears at present, with satellite trails.

Painting them a certain colour might make it easier for computers to remove them.
