Just been reading about it in New Scientist.
Sounds horrible.
Apart from anything else, if one of the key aims is to improve privacy, how does that work if everything is documented through blockchains, so sources can be traced?

I had never heard of this, so I looked it up. It appear to be a notion that some people have had. I have no idea how to answer your question, sorry.

Others, such as Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey, have argued that Web3 only serves as a buzzword or marketing term.
Personally, I think “blockchain” is a buzzword. It reminds me of a YouTube video I saw not long ago (no link) in which the author said that most people find it difficult to grasp just how useless non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are.

I guess blockchain has become a bit buzzy but it is a genuinely useful term referring to a real technology.

Remember that? It was on every second household electrical item for a while. Until people started to find out that when it stopped working, no-one knew what was wrong or how to fix it.
