I wonder what the average distance is between stars?

For a Globular cluster it is is around 1 light year.

The average distance between galaxies is about one million light years. There are roughly 100 billion galaxies in the observable universe.

That’s in the right ball park. I’d expected stars in a globular cluster to be closer than that.
