Oh good idea AnneS ..arvo all. I’m stuffed. What’s new lol. Drenched with sweat, I cleaned out the chooks bedding straw and run and loaded it into the cart , well several cartloads. Put new straw in.
Piled soiled straw on the compost and put the rest around veges as mulch. I’ve timed this so rain will water it in..soon.

Howdy. Been a warm and humid one again today.
Just a quick visit. Heading off to Lithgow again in a bit. My baby brother has had a disaster in his pet shop overnight so I am going up to help clean up..When he arrived to open up this morning he found 16 of his aquariums full of fish, axolotyls etc smashed on the floor….he managed to save 10 fish and 1 axolotyl. He reckons at least $10 grand damage. :(
The insurance company has finally given him the go ahead to start cleaning up…he said he’s just trying to decide what to do first, its worse than projectile vomit, glass and parts of filters have been thrown 6 metres from the back of the shop.
He’s had a bad run with the shop over the last 12 months and this will probably be the straw that breaks the camel’s back :(

Am 200 posts back, looks like I just caught up on Saturday.
Might to the top when I get home from work. Snatching a quick read of a dozen posts at a time in between typing, etc.

Oh Anne, that’s awful =/ I’m sure he’ll feel better having you there to help, but what a blow :(
Arvo. I’m way back but have to boot off again shortly. Fun and games with a very upset GS who’s in the city. I got him to agree to come to the local train station so I can meet him. It’s his 19 th birthday and my one day to see him. I’ll get him to go for a walk with me.
My morning drs appt went fine and I don’t have anything else wrong (CT abdo and bowel scan results). Other than the wayward ovary, my insides are excellent, so the Op for that is going ahead in a couple weeks. He said I’m in better health than when I was half my age. Pity about the wrinkles :P

arvo – just.
another mighty fine day here in sa. i’ve started mowing two acres with the victor. i fugure it will do a better job than the tractor slasher which left heaps of unchopped stuff behind. and i have just cleaned up and mowed about 300×6m of fenchline so doing the rest doesn’t seem that difficult – in 1-2 hour binges of course.
the shed got a clean yesterday and as a consequence the pergola gets it’s bamboo top today and some irrigation has been laid.
all good – but tired. those energy drinks don’t work as far as i’m concerned.

Arvo. It’s been a rather quiet and boring day for me lol.
Housework done, fernery watered, and caught up on ga episodes online. Nothing much to do in the garden except enjoy it and watch it grow.. plenty of flowers on the tomato bushes:)
Garden Club meeting tonight and we are off to a restaurant :D

Arvo. Back from my meeting. Time to start climbing….still back at 21/11. Gonna take a while methinks
I’m back and stuffed! We planted, fertilised, mulched and watered about 200 plants (although I only did the fertilising and watering). Standing for so long really does my back in. Still it will look a lot better in the long run :)
Just sitting down for a few minutes and then I’ll organise lunch! :)
G’day. Been out just about all day. First was the community breakfast. Not a lot of people other than the workers from our Progress Association and their families, but the few who did were generally newcomers to the town, so hopefully they now feel welcome and who knows might even get involved further down the track. After that a group went down to the hall to decorate and set it up for tomorrow’s Celebration dinner dance. Then it was to set up all the bunting and delineate the parking areas.
Now home to take it easy….must admit I had the easy jobs today…like making all the streamers, wahsing up etc. Not too demanding :)
Phew! I’m home but stuffed. Our dinner dance went really well last night but it was really hot in the hall as expected. Just as well we had marquees outside for people to sit under when not dancing.
Today the rain held off and parade went off without a hitch. We had 3 bullock teams being led around as well as a brahman bull being ridden! He was so quiet it was unbelievable. Also there was a group of antique tractors along with an assortment of floats and horses. Even had Cobb & Co wagon (probably a replica; if an original it was in brilliant condition).
The history display was very well received and overall it’s been a great day with lots of people in attendance…no idea of numbers, but a few hundred at least :)

They are BG…better than I thought. I was actually sceptical that anyone would be interested in celebrations considering that we haven’t had a full post office in the town since about 1970, but there has been enough other historical value to get everyone interested.

He actually got a couple of calves last year to raise for the purpose of training them as a team eventually. He didn’t factor in how much they’d cost to keep, and how much work they’d be, given we had no paddocks, fences or pasture!
doh!
Arvo. Sorry I nicked off in a hurry this morning. #1 daughter got me to go with her when bub had ultrasound and blood test done and then we went shopping. It took my mind off myself a bit :)

I’ve gained 2kg since I was at your place, Anne. I’m blaming 1 on my sister’s wanton display of chockies and lollies on the kitchen bench and the other 1 on HP’s cooking!

G’day. Well I’ve had a fairly productive day today, outside. Started off with me having a go at whipper snippering this morning. That’s normally MrS’ domain, but while he was home for his midday break between jobs I had a go. Mind you my arms felt pretty weak for a couple of hours afterwards and I manage to wipe out a few of the border sunflowers, but still I didn’t do too badly. Was a bit worried about how my back would cope with the vibrations, but it doesn’t seem to much worse than when I normally get out in the garden, so that’s a plus.
I also finally planted out the walnut that #1 son bought me a couple of months ago as well as a lavendar I have grown from a cutting. More importantly I planted out the rose that I grew from a cutting. My brother got it for me from the family farm (my great-grandparents bought it just after WW1) just before it was sold last year. It was sad to see the farm go, but I if this rose survives it will be nice momento.
I have also planted out 2 more tomatoes, some more corn and carrots.
Now I am absolutely filthy so time for a shower :)

Thanks Pom. I also have a fig tree growing which grew from a cutting from the farm, and I still have in a pot a forsythia grown from a cutting from the farm. So if they all thrive I’ll have plenty of momentos :)

I like the rose story.
Me too!
That will make a great story for the grandies, and cuttings for when they are adults :D
I hope so. It’s a climbing rose, which Mum says is called Cutter’s Gold, but I haven’t been able to find it in Rose Catalogues. From memory it’s similar colouring to the Peace Roses, but it has the most exquisite perfume. Fingers crossed :)

The only thing that’s close is Sutter’s Gold

The perfume of roses is lovely, even if they are, well, roses :P

G’day. I’m back home now. It’s starting to come over stormy. Hope I get to go outside and play :)
G’day. Been doing a bit of lurking today, so am pretty much up to date, although I won’t comment on all the posts, especially not the food ones. I need to try to think less about food :)
G’day, Goodbye. I’m off to camp. Play nicely whilw I am away but don’t fill the LHC too much please :)
Arvo, I’m back……
Very sore, sorry and oh so tired, but it was a ggod camp. I will tell you about the Taj Mahal (my tent) at a later time, suffice to say I am just checking in. Only 6 pages of the LHC to catch up on…you were restrained….NOT! lol

It’s been very quiet here, Anne, multiple hours have passed between posts on several occasions.
Gtg home. Work has been a bit busier last couple of weeks. Still some slow patches, but picking up overall. Hope it lasts. Hate being bored.
Cyas.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I would LOVE to be bored at work at the moment. Usually I would agree with you, but it’s so horrible and stressful at the moment – a nice patch of boredom would be bliss!
Arvo all. Thought I’d better poke my head in the door seeing as I have finally managed to get back out into the garden today :)
Don’t die of fright but I am still around, just don’t get around to posting much lately. Hardly even done any lurking so I have no idea what’s going on around the traps. Hope you are all well
