Very unexpected.

I don’t know if we are learning heaps from lightning. IIRC, the first ever issue of the Scientific American Magazine, in 1845, had a great article explaining lightning. But we still don’t understand everything about how lightning works, people are still proposing all sorts of hypothetical things, such as lightning generated and sustained by microwaves.
