Day three of the first test… the Aussies are 13 runs behind the poms. Will need to score and get a lead sometime today…. slow first hour so far.

Had the radio on when I was having lunch at home.

Poms are responding rather too well, it seems.

I’m so glad I’m not at home with Mr Bon today – yesterday was bad enough. Poor thing takes the cricket so personally, and I’ve yet to find out whether there’s anything I can say or do to improve the situation. These days I just leave the room.

Although once it becomes utterly hopeless, he goes into joking mode, which is an improvement.

Poms are now favourites to win the whole series according to Bookies.

bon, you could say to him that the Gabba was such a flat track that even you could have scored a ton! And remind only one side has capitulated so far, so augurs well for Adelaide….

bs sometimes works.

I think that just encourages the idea that it’s OK to be a big grumpy bum if it’s going badly, though?

It will inevitably go badly sometimes – it would be terribly boring if we always won!

Matthew Hayden is on the ABC at the moment commentating, but talking about his permaculture garden… Matty is a bloke who not only opened the batting for Australia with a pink bat to promote awareness to breast cancer, but he has published a cookbook and now runs a permaculture park for the people…

sounds like a good bloke.

Friends told us about his show on Foxtel – sounded right up our alley. I believe the gist of the show was following them as their re-did their block along permaculture lines, and then he would also cook in each episode I think too. Not worth getting Foxtel for, though :D

well I left the PC to continue watching the teev…. and lo’ and behold, the teev is on the abc and due to us Qbillys not wanting DLS, there is some sheila with a brightly coloured mosaic’d shed talking about fruit and guff to that hirsute bloke on the gardening program. So GF and I had to watch that, and then the Ashes continued.

Goooooo Australya.
