I thought flat currencies were supposed to be good.

Oh, fiat currencies, this is all I know about them:

A serious discussion about money

Treason is, basically, acting against your own country.

Doing it to another country is economic warfare.

The Nazis had plans to devalue British currency by flooding the country with really superb-quality forged £5 notes.

Heh, I thought of that sketch too when I saw this thread.

Depends who does it

George soros blew up the value of the british pound decades ago to gain profit – dump millions of pounds , push the value down then buy low.

Most likely government ministers and public servants were in on the scam and made lots of money too – its why sorts remained alive. Soros cuts a deal with the movers and shakers.

Wookie used “Soros” again.

My Wookbingo card is nearly complete, I just need him to use “woke” in a sentence and I’ll win a cooked chook. :)

I only really soros from that one event , I don’t bother tracking his activities, he’s obviously in bed with people wanting to make money from manipulation of the markets.

People’s brains have been eaten out everything is clearly NOT a conspiracy. Most likely soros is involved in money laundering for the elites. I mean let’s face it, the Labor party is bringing in 700,000 soon and everyone on handouts and working for the government are quiet as mice – they’ll be fine. The average Australian would find it quiet acceptable if an animal was gnawing away at the end of their leg. 1 trillion dollar submarine programmes – remember when they lost all that money for seasprite ? In Tasmania they are building a stadium no one wants. Sydney smashed down a perfectly functional stadium to build another 1 billion dollar stadium in its place.

Inflation is a delayed reaction to money being made worth less.

Gambling yes, speeding fines no.

I drive for a living, and often see speed limit signs moved for no apparent reason other than to trap&fine otherwise safe drivers by reducing a speed limit from a safe limit to a lower limit, and making the sign harder to see.

Bussell Hwy South of Busselton is now a row of speed traps. One minute you are in a 110km/h zone, and then 60km/h. There is no in between.

That’s ok. I read what you post and you are one of the most intelligent and well read posters here.

I do sometimes wonder how you could be so well informed about world politics while holding a day job.

I try to keep up and follow what’s going on, but my day job takes up too much of my life.

see if I can begin to make that brain fart I had when posted the OP remotely respectable, probably not but i’ll give it a try

surely to invite war on your own country, economic or military, might be considered treasonous, could be in some contexts, seen so

anyway think of this more a thought exercise
